ABSTRACT

These days smart phones has become very important part of our day to day life. So it is necessary that
these smart phones should be more reliable. In this study, we are doing comparison between five
mobiles dependent upon its generation on the basis of their reliability factors using Multi Criterion
Decision Making (MCDM) Technique-Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). In first step we find out the
reliability factors of the smart phones and then using AHP we find which reliability factor is most
important criterion and which is least important criterion. Through this we find which is the best
alternative among the given alternatives. Another method used in this study was a survey. A survey was
conducted, in which questions on the basis of reliability of smart phones were asked. And then it was
decided which smart phone is better
Introduction

These days' software products are utilized as a part of an undeniably wide range of applications areas,
and their right operation is often critical for business achievement and human wellbeing. Creating or
choosing top notch software is hence of prime significance. One of such software product is Smart
Phones.
Smart phones are phones that offers advanced technologies with similar function as a personal computer.
The use of smart phones has become an absolute part of day to day life of all people globally. Almost
91% of the world's population owns a smart phone. Smart phones are everywhere and with anyone.
Smart Phones capabilities has allowed it to become an essential part of our lives. So it is important that
they should be reliable.
According to ISO 9126 Quality Model the reliability of a software product that can be termed as “The
capability of the software product to keep up its level of accomplishment under stated conditions for a
stated period of time” [2]. In this study, first of all we will find reliability factors of smart phones. After
this we apply AHP to find the better smart phone using the reliability factors of smart phones.
1st generation-
History-
1G mobile communication system was introduced in Japan in 1979 by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone
(NTT). Initially, it started in Tokyo and within next five years expanded to cover the whole of Japan.
In 1981, Nordic Mobile Telephone (NMT) was launched in European countries. In 1983, Ameritech
launched 1G mobiles in the USA using Motorola mobile phones. Use of mobile communication system
was then followed by several countries.

2nd generation-

History-
Jesse Eugene Russell (born April 26, 1948) is an American inventor. He was trained as an electrical
engineer at Tennessee State University and Stanford University, and worked in the field of wireless
communication for over 20 years. Who invented 2g network,Second generation (2G) mobile phones
switched from analog system of 1G to digital system. It was commercially launched in 1991 as GSM
standard in Finland. As with 1G phones, 2G phones didn’t have any worldwide standardizations. 2G
systems were also known as personal communications services (PCM).
3th generation-
History-

The first global pre-commercial launch of the 3G network was in Japan by NTT Docomo in 1998, and it
was branded as FOMA. The first commercial launch of the technology happened on October 1, 2001-
also by NTT Docomo in Japan. Third generation mobile phones, or “3G Internet” mobile phones, is a set
of standards for wireless mobile communication systems, that promises to deliver quality multimedia
services along with high quality voice transmission

4th generation-
History-
The first commercial LTE deployment was in the Scandinavian capitals Stockholm and Oslo by
the Swedish-Finnish network operator TeliaSonera and its Norwegian brandname NetCom (Norway).
TeliaSonera branded the network "4G". Fourth Generation (4G) mobile phones provides broadband
cellular network services and is successor to 3G mobile networks. It provides an all IP based cellular
communications. The capabilities provided adhere to IMT-Advanced specifications as laid down by
International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
5th generation –
History-
The first nation to commercially introduce a 5G network was South Korea. On April 3, 2019, SK
Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus all simultaneously launched their 5G networks. On which network is 5G
running,5G networks are cellular networks, in which the service
area is divided into small geographical areas called cells. All 5G wireless devices in a cell communicate
by radio waves with a cellular base station via fixed antennas, over frequencies assigned by the base
station. The base stations, termed nodes, are connected to switching centers in the telephone network
and routers for Internet access by high- bandwidth optical fiber or wireless backhaul connections. As in
other cellular networks, a mobile device moving from

CONCLUSION

In today's world the mobile phone has become very important factor in human life , due to increasing
needs of human every system should be changed or need to upgrade it, every system has difference in
specifications and its features . which includes speed, technologies - SMS ,GPS ,GSM ,GPRS ,ETC .
As per history communication includes 5 generations each generation is going upgraded as per need ,
Also its necessary to going upgraded as per the word is going on way of development ,as we have studied
shortly about 5 generations above in this report ,we have successfully concluded the need of upgradation
in our radio communication by comparing mobile phones depending of generation of communication .
