A. Preparation
“Good Morning Class.” “Good Morning Ma’am.”
1. Prayer:
“Before we start our class, let us - One student will lead

how to make sentences, do you
know the Basic Sentence
Structures?”

“Okay, because you have no


idea about the Basic Sentence
Structure I give you the Four
basic sentence structure that we
used every day. They are
classified as:
1. Simple Sentence
2. Compound Sentence
3. Complex Sentence
4. Compound Complex
Sentence
2. Unlocking of Difficulties
 Simple Sentence- is
composed of a single
independent clause.
 Compound Sentence- it
has two or more
independent clause
joined by a coordinating
conjunction.
 Complex Sentence-
contains one
independent clause and
one or more dependent
clauses.
3. Presentation
“Let us read the following - Students are reading the
sentences.” sentences.
- Simple Sentence
1. The bird built a nest made
of twigs and leaves for its
young.

- Compound Sentence
2. She dictated, and I typed.

- Complex Sentence
3. He went abroad because he
wanted to earn money for
his family

- Compound Complex Sentence


4. We can talk about anything
and we will go anywhere
just as long as we are
together.
4. Discussion

“It is called a simple sentence


because it is composed of a single
independent clause. This means
that it consists of one or more
subjects and one or more verb or
subject plus verb (s+v)

independent clauses. Therefore, two
or more simple sentences put
together can make up a compound
sentence. It is following the rule of
independent clause plus

two independent clauses.

sentence? independent clause (I) and one or more
dependent clauses (D).”

“To identify the complex sentence,


we use the independent clause plus
dependent clause. We also use
subordinating conjunction of the
dependent clause like because,
which and when.”

“The last one is the Compound


Complex sentence which contains
two or more independent clauses.

It follows the rule of independent of


clause plus independent clause plus
dependent clause or (I+I+D. we can
use coordinating conjunction (e.g.
and/but, I, Yet)

In a given example “as long as serve


as a dependent clause.

C. Generalization
“We use a variety of sentences
everyday and with the help of the
basic sentence structure we can
classified every sentence as simple
sentence, compound sentence,
complex sentence, and compound
complex sentence.

compound complex sentence.

the school principal.
2. I danced while he sang, but they
won because they also played the
piano.
3. The school, which was built ten
years ago, was very popular, yet I
saw it torn down.
4. The dress was beautiful, but it was
expensive, so I didn’t buy it.
5. He studies well because he wanted
to be a doctor for his family.
