Activity Title : TRAINING ON LOCAL POVERTY REDUCTION


ACTION TEAM – VILLAGE ECO-GOVERNANCE
DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK (LPRAT-VEGDF) AND
POVERTY MONITORING SYSTEM

Target Date : November 25 - 26, 2021

I. Rationale

On September 7, 2018, the National Anti-Poverty Commission launched its


Sambayanihan Caravan, a program where the frontline support basic social services
of various national government agencies will be delivered directly those in the
poorest communities.

Through issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 59 All government instrumentalities,


including government-owned or controlled corporations are directed to support,
participate and provide the necessary assistance, consistent with their mandates, to
the NAPC in the implementation of the Sambayanihan. This is to ensure a “whole-of-
government “approach to poverty alleviation and the widest deployment of basic
social services to poorest communities

Further, The Village Eco-Governance Development Framework (VEGDF) was


lauched to institutionalize community consultation with the elected officials of the
Village in formulating policies and projects that deal with the harmonization of
environmental protection and development. This is to forward poverty reduction
programs and a just government system that could provide an environment of
climate change resilient communities.

II. Objectives:

This activity mainly aims to provide further enlightenments on Village Eco-


Governance Development Framework. Further is to introduce Climate Change
Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and encourage active participation of
different sectors in planning sessions.

III. Process:

The activity will be conducted on November 25 – 26, 2021 at the


Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipal Building, Brgy. 1 (Pob.), Mulanay,
Quezon. The activity will be participated by Kasambayanihan volunteers.
