Local Climate Change Action Plan Objectives


GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Goal:
“The Municipality of Pilar aims to enhance resilience of agri-fishery and
ecotourism practices from climate change, strengthen communities and
natural ecosystems, and reduce vulnerabilities among individuals through
sustainable and inclusive local initiatives.”
The goals of the Municipality of Pilar Climate Change Action Plan 2025-2029 are
anchored on the following goals of the National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP)
2011-2028:
a. Building the adaptive capacities of the communities
b. Increase the resilience of vulnerable sectors and natural ecosystems to climate
change
c. Optimize mitigation opportunities toward gender-responsive and right-based
sustainable development

Objectives:
The following objectives of the Climate Change Action Plan of the Municipality of
Pilar are anchored on the work priorities of the National Climate Change Action Plan
2011-2028 on food security, water sufficiency, environmental and ecological stability,
human security, climate friendly industries and services, sustainable energy and
knowledge and capacity building. To wit:
 To ensure availability, stability, accessibility and affordability of safe and healthy
food amidst climate change
 To ensure the resilience of water resources, manage supply and demand,
manage water quality and promote conservation
 To protect and rehabilitate critical ecosystems and restore ecological services
 To reduce the risks of women and men to climate change and disasters
 To create green and eco-jobs and sustainable consumption and production
 To promote and expand energy efficiency and conservation and develop
sustainable and renewable energy, environmentally sustainable transport
 To enhance the knowledge on climate change, capacity for climate change
adaptation, mitigation and disaster risk reduction.
