Đề 2 (HƯỚNG DISAGREE): Students in schools and universities learn more from their teachers than
through other means such as the Internet, libraries, and TV. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is no denying that the way students acquire knowledge has evolved significantly in recent years. Many
people hold the view that teachers play the most crucial role in students' education, outweighing other sources such
as the Internet, libraries, and television. However, I completely disagree with this perspective for several reasons.
Firstly, modern technology provides students with limitless access to knowledge. To be more specific, the
Internet has revolutionized education by offering a vast array of online courses, academic resources, and research
materials that students can explore at their own pace. That is to say, instead of relying solely on teachers, students
can enhance their learning experience through educational platforms like Coursera, Khan Academy, or YouTube.
According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, 70% of students worldwide use online resources as
their primary means of studying outside the classroom, demonstrating the effectiveness of alternative learning
methods.
Secondly, self-directed learning fosters critical thinking and independence. Unlike traditional classroom
settings where students passively receive information from teachers, using libraries and digital tools encourages
them to research, analyze, and synthesize information. In other words, students develop essential skills such as
problem-solving and independent thinking, which are vital for their future careers. A prime example of this is the
success of self-taught programmers and entrepreneurs who acquired knowledge through books, online courses, and
coding platforms rather than formal classroom instruction.
In conclusion, I am completely against the idea that students learn more from teachers than from other
sources. The Internet, libraries, and TV provide invaluable learning opportunities that not only expand students’
knowledge but also enhance their critical thinking skills. Therefore, a balanced approach that integrates both
traditional and modern learning methods is the most effective way to educate students in today’s world.
Đề 3 (HƯỚNG BALANCED): It is impossible to help all people in the world, so governments should only
focus on people in their own countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In today’s world, the question of whether governments should prioritize domestic issues over global
responsibilities is a complex one. While I agree that governments should focus primarily on their own citizens,
there are compelling reasons for them to also engage in international efforts to address global challenges.
Firstly, it is undeniable that countries have limited resources, including financial, manpower, and materials.
Therefore, governments have a primary responsibility to ensure the well-being of their own citizens by meeting
their basic needs such as education, healthcare, employment, and social welfare. This is crucial for maintaining
domestic stability and safeguarding citizens’ rights and interests. Moreover, many countries face pressing domestic
issues such as poverty, disease, and educational inequality. It is imperative for governments to allocate existing
resources to address these problems rather than investing resources abroad.
However, in an era of globalization, some issues require cooperation between countries to be effectively
addressed. Global challenges such as climate change, global poverty, and disease control cannot be solved by any
single country alone. Additionally, problems in one country can often have spillover effects on neighboring
countries. As a member of the international community, each country has a responsibility to assist those in need. By
helping neighboring countries develop their economies and infrastructure, countries can foster regional stability and
enhance their own long-term development prospects.
In conclusion, while governments should prioritize the needs of their own citizens due to limited resources
and their primary responsibility to protect them, some issues are better addressed through international cooperation.
Therefore, governments should adopt a balanced approach that considers both domestic and global priorities.
PRACTICE: Many people believe that students should be required to wear uniform when going to school.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
