Một số bài Argumentative Essay sample

Đề 1: In the future, it seems more difficult to live on Earth. Some people think more money should be spent
on researching another planet to live on, such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this
statement?
a. AGREE:
It is widely believed that in future times, more funding should be put into researching planets, such as Mars,
that are suitable for human life because our planet is getting harder and harder to live on. This essay strongly agrees
with the belief and will give explanations as well as proofs to support them.
As many pieces of research shows, there exist many severe issues with the Earth in general, some would be
the well-known global warming, plastic pollution, ice melting, and most importantly, the gradual depletion of
natural resources. These problems, in time, will destroy the Earth’s environment and ultimately what lives in it.
Scientists predict that consequences will arrive much sooner than people think and that most of the world is not
fully aware of how serious these events are and their detrimental effects. With more and more funding raised by
governments and residents for the advance of technology, preferably for the purpose of entertainment, I believe that
parts of that money should be spent on what would actually save our kind.
Furthermore, since the first man ever walked on the Moon, the possibility of life outside Earth had no longer
been theoretical, in fact, it is known that some planets in our solar system, such as Mars, have signs of life and
living conditions. Huge enterprises such as SpaceX and NASA have also confirmed the potential of living on
another planet and the only problem seems to be funding. With our spectacular advances in technology and science,
such objects would not be impossible to achieve.
In conclusion, the current issue with our environment as well as the advancement in our machines is why
more funding should be spent on researching and finding another planet to save our species from extinction.

b. DISAGREE
There is no denying that living conditions on Earth are becoming more challenging due to environmental and
social issues. Some argue that governments should invest heavily in searching for a new habitable planet, such as
Mars. However, I completely disagree with this view for several reasons.
Firstly, solving Earth’s current problems should be the top priority. To be more specific, climate change,
pollution, and resource depletion are urgent crises that require immediate action. That is to say, rather than
spending billions on space exploration, funds should be used to develop renewable energy, sustainable agriculture,
and conservation efforts. According to the World Bank, investing in environmental protection could significantly
improve global living conditions and prevent future crises.
Secondly, colonizing another planet is unrealistic and impractical. In other words, despite years of research,
there is no concrete evidence that humans can survive on Mars in the long term. To clarify, extreme temperatures,
lack of oxygen, and high radiation levels make human settlement nearly impossible with current technology. A
prime example of this is the Mars One project, which aimed to establish a colony on Mars but failed due to
financial and technical challenges.
In conclusion, I am completely against the idea of prioritizing space exploration over solving Earth’s
problems. Instead of searching for a new planet, governments should focus on preserving and improving life on
Earth to ensure a sustainable future.

Đề 2 (HƯỚNG DISAGREE): Students in schools and universities learn more from their teachers than
through other means such as the Internet, libraries, and TV. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is no denying that the way students acquire knowledge has evolved significantly in recent years. Many
people hold the view that teachers play the most crucial role in students' education, outweighing other sources such
as the Internet, libraries, and television. However, I completely disagree with this perspective for several reasons.
Firstly, modern technology provides students with limitless access to knowledge. To be more specific, the
Internet has revolutionized education by offering a vast array of online courses, academic resources, and research
materials that students can explore at their own pace. That is to say, instead of relying solely on teachers, students
can enhance their learning experience through educational platforms like Coursera, Khan Academy, or YouTube.
According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, 70% of students worldwide use online resources as
their primary means of studying outside the classroom, demonstrating the effectiveness of alternative learning
methods.
Secondly, self-directed learning fosters critical thinking and independence. Unlike traditional classroom
settings where students passively receive information from teachers, using libraries and digital tools encourages
them to research, analyze, and synthesize information. In other words, students develop essential skills such as
problem-solving and independent thinking, which are vital for their future careers. A prime example of this is the
success of self-taught programmers and entrepreneurs who acquired knowledge through books, online courses, and
coding platforms rather than formal classroom instruction.
In conclusion, I am completely against the idea that students learn more from teachers than from other
sources. The Internet, libraries, and TV provide invaluable learning opportunities that not only expand students’
knowledge but also enhance their critical thinking skills. Therefore, a balanced approach that integrates both
traditional and modern learning methods is the most effective way to educate students in today’s world.

Đề 3 (HƯỚNG BALANCED): It is impossible to help all people in the world, so governments should only
focus on people in their own countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In today’s world, the question of whether governments should prioritize domestic issues over global
responsibilities is a complex one. While I agree that governments should focus primarily on their own citizens,
there are compelling reasons for them to also engage in international efforts to address global challenges.
Firstly, it is undeniable that countries have limited resources, including financial, manpower, and materials.
Therefore, governments have a primary responsibility to ensure the well-being of their own citizens by meeting
their basic needs such as education, healthcare, employment, and social welfare. This is crucial for maintaining
domestic stability and safeguarding citizens’ rights and interests. Moreover, many countries face pressing domestic
issues such as poverty, disease, and educational inequality. It is imperative for governments to allocate existing
resources to address these problems rather than investing resources abroad.
However, in an era of globalization, some issues require cooperation between countries to be effectively
addressed. Global challenges such as climate change, global poverty, and disease control cannot be solved by any
single country alone. Additionally, problems in one country can often have spillover effects on neighboring
countries. As a member of the international community, each country has a responsibility to assist those in need. By
helping neighboring countries develop their economies and infrastructure, countries can foster regional stability and
enhance their own long-term development prospects.
In conclusion, while governments should prioritize the needs of their own citizens due to limited resources
and their primary responsibility to protect them, some issues are better addressed through international cooperation.
Therefore, governments should adopt a balanced approach that considers both domestic and global priorities.

PRACTICE: Many people believe that students should be required to wear uniform when going to school.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
