SB2X 61 03

This Service Bulletin (SB 2X-61-03) mandates a torque inspection of the propeller hub for Cirrus Design SR22 models with specific serial numbers, to be completed at the next annual inspection or within 500 flight hours. The inspection is necessary due to a calibration issue with a torque wrench used during installation, which may have resulted in under-torqued parts. Compliance is covered under warranty if performed at an authorized service center.

Service Bulletin SB 2X-61-03

Issued: 22 Aug 2005

Model SR22

ATA 61-10: Propeller Assembly

Propeller Hub Torque Inspection

COMPLIANCE
Mandatory: Cirrus Design considers this Service Bulletin to be MANDATORY. Accomplish this Service
Bulletin at the next annual inspection or within the next 500 flight hours, whichever occurs first. Compliance
time begins upon receipt of this Service Bulletin.

EFFECTIVITY
Cirrus Design SR22 serial numbers 1307 through 1530, 1533, 1534, and 1537.

APPROVAL
FAA approval has been obtained on all technical data in this Service Bulletin that affects type design.

PURPOSE
During an internal quality assurance audit of production line tools and equipment, a torque wrench used in
the installation of the propeller was found to be out of calibration. This condition resulted in the attaching
parts to the propeller hub to be slightly under-torqued on affected airplanes.
To address this condition, the nuts attaching the propeller hub to the engine flange must be inspected and,
if necessary, tightened to the correct torque value.

DESCRIPTION
This Service Bulletin contains instructions for inspecting, and if necessary, correcting the torque used to
install the propeller hub to the engine flange.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
Cirrus Design will cover parts and labor costs for this Service Bulletin if the work is accomplished within the
standard airplane warranty period and the work is accomplished at an authorized Cirrus Design Service
Center. The Warranty Claim Form must be properly filled out and submitted to Cirrus Design in order to
obtain a warranty credit.

MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS
1.0 manhour.
