Give a detailed account of the sequence of instruction. How was the

lesson introduced? How was the lesson developed? How was the
lesson concluded?

Attendance, Warm up, Scale Patterns, Sight Singing, Dictation

Name and describe the instructional strategies employed by the
teacher/instructor (e.g. cooperative learning, “think, pair, share,”
lecture, group discussion, modeling, etc.).
Modeling: This is important for aural learners when teaching
aural skills. By giving an example of singing the chord or part
of the exercise can get the group ready for the activity, and
then let them express their growth and take off the training
wheels.
I feel like in this class there is a decent amount of the
instructor providing modeling, but there is also a lot of
individual work and it is thru this combo that students
are able to develop aural skills also independent sight
reading skills

Describe the presentation of the lesson. How did you perceive what
went on?
I believe this lesson was very effective, by starting with
scale patterns and a warm up we prepare for class by
practicing fundamentals, then we can addmore complex
singing and ear training that all work towards our
proficiency testing.
On an additional sheet of paper, describe the learning that took
place.

Covert practice: by asking students to imagine applying

instruction, without actually doing so we were able to practice
the annunciation of solfège without worrying about pitch.

Harmonic Analysis: technical skills of understanding how a

chord is related to the key and to other chords in the
music.

Melodic Dictation: transcribing and notating a melody by ear.

Ear Training: formal practice of identifying what you’re

listening to. This aural skill can be used to hear Melodie’s,
genres, scales, or other chord progressions.
