Level: Beginner

Age: 3 – 5 years old

Length: 45 minutes

Lesson objectives: By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

 Identify different colors and the colors in the objects


around them (target vocabularies: Red, Yellow, Blue,
Green)
 Use colors in simple sentences.
 Engage in activities to reinforce color vocabulary.

Resources: Flashcards, powerpoint, board, markers, blutack, colorful toys,


colorful pencils, worksheet

study today.
Give each student one
color object.
Play the song again,
students have to stand up

Teaching 1 Target: flashcard, 9


- Students will be able to blutack,
properly name and board,
pronounce 4 colors: Red, marker,
Yellow, Blue, Green colorful
Produce: objects
- Teacher shows the
flashcard for students to look
at.
- Repeat 5 times vocabulary:
Teacher uses body
language to make students
understand that they will be
quiet, listen only, and not
repeat words; then teacher
shows the flashcard and

pronounces new vocabulary
5 times slowly.
- Choral drill: Teacher reads
aloud and asks all students
to repeat new vocabulary 5
times. Teacher can use
different styles each time
such as whisper or speak
out loud.
- Individual repetition:
Teacher calls each student
by their name at a time to
read aloud those words.
Teacher praises students. In
case students make
mistakes, teacher will call
them again to fix their
pronounciation.
- Final repetition: Teacher
sticks the flashcards on the
board and reviews all
flashcards after introducing
each new word.

- Once all the students
have matched their colors,
gather them together and

helping verb "be"
changes, but the main
verb remains the same.
- Give realia examples for
both forms (1 each)
example by action.
- Show some verb change
in the -ing form. Let
students find the
differences between those
words.
- Simply point out that
some words have special
changes.
+ short verb with a
consonant in the end, we
double the consonant and
add –ing.
+ verb with “e” in the end,
we delete the “e” and add
–ing.

Task 2 Coloring - Teacher distribute the Coloring 8

the pictures using specific
colors. For example, “Can
you color the sun yellow?”

color, the students will share
their artwork with the class
and talk about the colors
they used.

Backup Simon - Students stand up and

verbs with everyone doing
the actions. Then say
"sleep" without the "Simon
says" part – anyone who
does the action is out!
