There are three eggs.

II. Short Answers:

1. What happens every time the poet climbs a tree?


Every time the poet climbs a tree, he scrapes a leg or skins a knee, dodges a
bee and gets ants all over him.

2. How does the poet get ants all over himself?


The poet gets ants all over himself by climbing a tree.

3. How does the poet feel when he is on top of a tree?


When the poet is on top of a tree he feels free.

4. What does the poet like the most when he climbs a tree?
The poet likes finding nests with one or three eggs the most, when he climbs a tree.
5. Does the poet feel bad when he skins the other leg?
No, the poet does not feel bad when he skins the other leg.

6. What does the poet see every time he climbs a tree?


Every time he climbs a tree, the poet sees swallows, rooftops, TV, fields and farms.

III. Long Answers:

2. Why do you think the poet has repeated the line, 'Every time I climb a tree'?
The poet has repeated the line, ‘Every time I climb a tree’ to tell the reader
that climbing trees is his hobby and he does it multiple times.

3. Why does the poet feel free every time he climbs a tree?
Every time the poet climbs a tree he feels free because on top of the tree he is
by himself and gets to see a lot of new and interesting things.

4. How do we know that the poet thoroughly enjoys climbing trees and does
not bother much about the ants or the bees or scraping his knees?
We know that the poet thoroughly enjoys climbing trees and does not bother
much about anything else because even after getting hurt each time, he still
gets excited by everything he sees from the top of a tree— the swallows,
rooftops, TV, fields and farms.

5. Read these lines from the poem and try to write four more lines of your own
that rhyme with these lines.
Though climbing may be good for ants
It isn't awfully good for pants
But still it's pretty good for me
Every time I climb a tree.
