Statement of Purpose

Introduction

Before beginning this Statement of Purpose, I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my

application. My name is Harpreet Kaur, and I am from Hamidi, District Barnala. I was born on 11th September

2002 to Jagjit Singh, an agriculturist with an annual income of INR 6,52,500, and Manjit Kaur, who runs her

own business with an annual income of INR 2,49,300. My passport number is U7444670.

Academic Background

I completed my matriculation in 2018 under the Central Board of Secondary Education with good scores,

followed by senior secondary education in 2020 with a 78% aggregate in the Commerce stream. After this, I

pursued a Diploma in Business Accounting from Guru Academy, Jalandhar, and completed it in 2022 with

72%. After my senior secondary studies, I took time to carefully research and decide on a suitable path

forward, considering various courses, institutions, and countries. Eventually, I chose to study Diploma in

Logistics & Supply Chain Management at Commonwealth College, Canada, with full support from my

parents.

Language Proficiency

I appeared for the IELTS examination on 5th February 2022 and secured an overall band score of 6.0 with

individual scores: Listening - 6.0, Reading - 6.5, Writing - 6.0, and Speaking - 6.0.

Work Experience

After completing my Diploma in Business Accounting, I started working as an Administrator' at GM Enterprise

in August 2022. I am currently employed with the same company, gaining valuable hands-on experience in

administrative and business operations.

Reason for Not Choosing India

Despite having completed my previous education in India, I am not satisfied with the Indian higher education

system. The curriculum largely focuses on theoretical knowledge and exam-based learning, with limited

emphasis on practical application or industry exposure. Additionally, due to the reservation system in India,

gaining admission to top-tier universities becomes highly competitive and uncertain. Institutions also lack

modern infrastructure, advanced teaching methods, and practical training opportunities. Therefore, to gain

globally recognized education with better career prospects, I have chosen to pursue my further studies

abroad.

Reason for Choosing Canada

Canada is globally known for its quality education, diverse culture, and student-friendly environment. The

Canadian education system focuses on research, innovation, and hands-on training, preparing students with

both theoretical and practical knowledge. Canadian institutions are recognized worldwide, and their

qualifications open doors to global career opportunities. Additionally, Canada is one of the safest countries,

with low crime rates and a high quality of life. Students also benefit from scholarships, bursaries, and

opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities. All these factors make Canada an ideal destination for

international students.

Reason for Choosing Commonwealth College

Commonwealth College is a registered private vocational institute under The Private Vocational Institutes Act

and a member of the Manitoba Association of Career Colleges. The college offers locally respected programs

at its downtown Winnipeg campus and is known for delivering quality, career-focused education. Their

approach combines classroom learning with practical experience and community engagement. I believe that

the program at Commonwealth College will give me the right skills, confidence, and knowledge to succeed in

the professional world.

Reason for Choosing Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management

The Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management at Commonwealth College covers a wide range of

relevant topics including inventory management, procurement, business law, operations management, and

information systems.

- Gain knowledge of Canadian business fundamentals and business law.

- Understand various transportation modes such as air, rail, water, and road.

- Learn operations management principles including quality control, inventory, and capacity planning.
 Statement of Purpose

- Study demand planning, forecasting techniques, and inventory control.

- Explore procurement strategies, international sourcing, and emerging trends.

This comprehensive curriculum will not only expand my academic knowledge but also help me gain

industry-relevant skills.

Previous Visa Refusal

I would like to acknowledge that I received a refusal in my previous student visa application. The refusal was

issued due to insufficient clarity in my study plan and lack of supporting documentation that demonstrated a

strong academic progression. I have carefully reviewed the reasons for the refusal and have addressed each

concern thoroughly in this new application. I have now provided a more structured Statement of Purpose,

strong justification for my course selection, and clear career objectives aligned with the chosen program. I

have also included additional supporting documents that strengthen my case and reflect my genuine intent to

pursue education in Canada. I respectfully request that my current application be considered on its improved

merits.

Career Goals

India's logistics and supply chain industry is rapidly growing and offers excellent career opportunities. With

the advancement of digital commerce and international trade, skilled professionals in this field are in high

demand. After completing my studies in Canada, I plan to return to India and work in reputed companies such

I am very close to my family and have personal responsibilities that bind me to return to India after completing
