Introduction
Ripples International Trust (RI) is a not for profit Christian, indigenous Kenyan Civil Society
organization founded in 2002. RI is a child rights organization committed to protect and
promote the respect for the rights of children through community focused initiatives in
partnership with stakeholders as inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We hereby seek to recruit a suitable, qualified & experienced candidate to fill the position of
the Human Resource Officer

Objective
The HR Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the HR function,
ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes in alignment with Ripples International's
mission and values. This includes recruitment, on-boarding, training, employee relations, and
performance management, as well as providing HR summaries and reports to the
management.

Scope of Work
 Collaborate with departments to define hiring needs and post job advertisements
across various platforms.
 Facilitate the recruitment process, including reviewing resumes, shortlisting
candidates, conducting interviews, and managing job offers.
 Manage the orientation and on-boarding process for new employees,
ensuring all necessary paperwork and inductions are completed.
 Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (personal, employment,
and compliance-related).
 Assess training needs in collaboration with department heads and facilitate internal
and external training programs.

 Assist in managing the organization’s payroll and employee benefits, ensuring all
employees are paid accurately and on time.
 Provide support and guidance to employees and managers on HR policies,
procedures and conflict resolution. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual HR
summaries and reports for management, providing an overview of recruitment,
training, turnover and other HR metrics.
 Ensure that Ripples International adheres to labor laws and regulations within
the jurisdiction.
 Review and update HR policies and procedures to reflect legal changes and best
practices.
 Support the performance management cycle by tracking employee performance,
assisting with appraisals, and providing feedback to management.
 Handle general HR administrative tasks including drafting employment
contracts, managing leave requests and maintaining HR documentation.
 Maintaining HR software and ensuring that it is updated and functional

Key Deliverables
 Timely and accurate recruitment, on-boarding, and staff development.
 Monthly HR summaries and reports submitted on time, detailing key HR metrics
(e.g., turnover, recruitment status, training progress, etc.).
 Regular employee satisfaction assessments and actionable feedback to
improve organizational culture.
 Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills


 A Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management
 Must be a member of IHRM with good standing
 Must have qt least 3 years of experience in human resources management, preferably
in the NGO sector.
 Must have Strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
 Proficiency in HR management software (e.g., HRIS, payroll systems).
 Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
 Ability to prepare HR reports and summaries with attention to detail.
