FM Lab pg2.2

The document outlines the setup and observations for measuring flow through pipes using Reynolds' apparatus, which includes a glass tube and a dye injection system to visualize flow. Key parameters such as the inner diameter, mass density, and dynamic viscosity of water are noted, along with precautions for accurate measurements. The document emphasizes the importance of controlling flow velocity and monitoring temperature during experiments.

Precautio
ns Do not forget to remove any entrapped air in the apparatus before
(i) starting measurement There should be no mechanical vibration
(ii) near the apparatus.
(iii) Do not forget to record the temperature of water at frequent
(iv) intervals.
Increase in velocity of flow should be in stages.
