FACILITATE LEARNING SESSION

DAY 1

Good morning!

I’m PIOLO PASCUAL, your registered trainer for BREAD AND PASTRY PRODUCTION NC
II.

Please sign the attendance sheet.

Done? Thank you.

Welcome to our institution Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation.

This is the school’s mission.

This is the organizational chart headed by Dr. Philip Luis G. Palencia, the board of trustees,
and the subordinates.

Our training for Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing NC II. has a nominal
duration of 260 hours or 33 days.

Our class starts 8am-5pm Monday to Saturday

Our training composes of the basic, common, and core competencies.

Competency Based Training is a delivery mode wherein trainees are given the opportunity
to learn at their own pace and focuses on outcomes rather than the learning process within
specified time.

Which means that our training here emphasizes most on what you can really do, your
progress depends on your learning speed and style. We are generally focusing on outcomes,
which means you will be judged according on what you learned, but not on how you learned.

The Ten Principles or CBT

1. Our training is based on the competency-based curriculum developed based on the

standards formulated by industry sector with the help of TESDA.
2. Generally, every unit of competency is composed of different training modules; you
cannot go to module 2 without completing module 1 until all competency
qualifications attain.
3. Which means that your progress in this training depends on your own learning
strategies and at your own speed.
4. Trainings that we conduct here is the same actual practice that you will undergo in
real industry scene
5. From competency standard, competency-based curriculum is developed and then
derived the different learning materials that we used
6. In traditional assessment, norm reference is usually used in which the students are
being compared to each other by ranking. But in CBTVET, we use criterion reference,
you will only be judged with either competent or not yet competent base on the
criteria standard.
7. To enhance the knowledge and skills of the students, we use the dual training system
wherein schools tie up with the industry.
8. If you have prior learning on any of the unit of competencies in this qualification, we
acknowledge it but provide a certificate employment or certificate of training as
proof, and you don’t need to undergo training on that particular competency.
9. In every unit of competency, you will undergo an institutional assessment, and if you
pass, you will receive a COA, and you may graduate and exit program any time of the
year.
10. We are providing this training because we have the Certificate of TVET Program
Registration (CTPR) issued by TESDA.

The CBT process flow has 4 stages, first is the orientation which we’re doing right now.
Then later, I will give you TNA forms, and pretest.

Next is learning activities in a specific unit of competency through different methodologies

using different learning materials.

After completing all the required activities in specific unit of competency, you will undergo
the institutional assessment, and if you pass, you will be awarded with a COA and you may
choose the unit of competency you would like to transfer, but if found that you are not yet
competent, you will undergo the same learning of activities. After passing all the
institutional assessments, you will undergo the mandatory national assessment, then you
will be awarded with a COT and you may exit the program.

How do we use the CBLMs?

After reading the information sheet, you will answer self-check to test what you’ve learned,
and you may check your answers using the answer key.

Task sheet is used for activities that involve a single task, operation sheet is used if you will
be operating an equipment or machinery, and job sheet is used if your activity involves
multiple tasks. And those three will be rated or judged using performance criteria check list.

Everyone, please stand up and I will tour you to our workshop area.

Practical Work Area – this is where you will perform actual activities to develop your skills
and knowledge.

Learning Resource Area – this is where you can find reading materials such as CBLMs,
manuals, etc.

Trainers Resource Area – this is where I display my credentials, and this is where I make
your CBLMs as well.

Institutional Assessment Area – This is where we conduct institutional assessment in

different unit of competencies.

Quality Control Area – this is where we conduct validation of outputs, and finished
products.

Distance Learning Area – this is where you can find and use multimedia materials and
equipment.

Support Service Area – this is where we keep our supplies, materials, and equipment that
you need in performing different activities.

Computer Laboratory Area – this area is where you can use the computer to browse the
internet to gather information and do researches.

Contextual Learning Area – this is where we’ll do most of our discussions.

That’s all please go back to your seats…..

related to this qualification. Just check mark on the column yes on the unit of competency
that you have prior learning with and bring your certificate tomorrow as proof. You have 10
mins to answer this, please get one and pass. Done? Pass the paper forward.

Now, we will be having a pretest, the purpose of this is to know your prior knowledge in this
