1. Executive Summary
A security survey was conducted at the N building of the University of the
Cordilleras main campus (Gate 2) assessed the building's security, identifying
vulnerabilities and threats. The survey covered all floors, documenting
entrance and exit points on each level. Based on the findings,
recommendations for improving the building's security will be developed.
Key Findings:
* Potential Vulnerabilities and Security Threats: The survey identified potential
vulnerabilities and security threats within the N building.
* Entrance and Exit Points: The team documented the location of all entrance and
exit points on each floor of the building.
* Visual Documentation: Pictures were taken to capture important observations and
findings during the survey.
Key Recommendations:
1. Implement a Secure Access Control System: Installing a robust access control
system for all building entrances and exits is paramount. This could involve
keycard access, biometric authentication, or a combination of both,
significantly reducing unauthorized access.
2. Increase Security Camera Coverage: Expanding the number and strategic
placement of security cameras throughout the building is essential. This will
provide better surveillance, deter potential criminal activity, and assist in
investigations if incidents occur.
3. Enhance Staff and Student Security Awareness: Implementing comprehensive
security awareness programs for staff and students is critical. These programs
should cover best practices, safety protocols, reporting suspicious activity, and
understanding the building's security measures. This will create a more proactive
and secure environment.
2. Introduction
The purpose of this security survey of the N building aimed to assess its
current security strengths and weaknesses, identify potential vulnerabilities,
and provide recommendations for improvement to enhance the building's
overall security posture.
Scope and Limitations:
The security survey of the N building focused on its physical security across
all floors, capturing key findings with photographs. However, the survey was
limited by its timeframe, focus on physical security, lack of historical data
analysis, and inability to perform operational testing.
Methodology Used:
The N building security survey methodology included:
Visual Inspection:
Inspection of all floors, including entrance and exit points, security measures,
and potential vulnerabilities.
Data Collection:
Recording observations, findings, and photographs.
Collaboration among team members to ensure a comprehensive assessment.
Analysis and Interpretation:
Evaluating findings to identify key security strengths, weaknesses, and
potential risks.
Developing recommendations based on the analysis.
Visual Documentation:
* Taking pictures of key findings to provide visual evidence and support for the
survey report.
3. Site Information
Site Name and Location: N Building, University of the Cordilleras, Gate 2, Main
Campus, Baguio City

6. Conclusion
To strengthen the security of University of the Cordilleras main campus. By
conducting periodic security workshop for the personnel this is to ensure that every
personnel of the campus can identify threats, can assess the vulnerability of and
weaknesses of the establishment and lastly, can assess the effectiveness of the
protocols.
7. Appendices
Appendix A:
Title: A systematic evaluation of factors critical to the security of the
establishment.
This section we analyze the vulnerabilities of the N Building of the University of the
Cordilleras main campus. We outlined the various risk that the establishment may
face, the unsecured entry and exit point and insufficient access control measures
heighten the risk.
Limited security camera coverage, leaving certain areas unmonitored.
Weak locking mechanisms on windows and doors.
Insufficient lighting in stairwells and emergency exits
This assessment involves evaluating the likelihood and potential impact of each
identified threat exploiting the identified vulnerabilities.
This section we analyze the existing security measures would detail and assess the
effectiveness of the security protocols, systems, and procedures currently in place.
Upgrade to Electronic Access Control: Implement access systems with
keycard or biometric authentication for better control.
Install Security Cameras: Position cameras strategically to cover all critical
areas and eliminate blind spots.
Improve Lighting: Enhance lighting in corridors, stairwells, and exterior
areas to deter malicious activity.
Reinforce Doors and Windows: Upgrade to high-security locks and
tamper-proof materials.
