CSPL Rules & Regulations
1. Tournament Format –
• 14 Teams divided into 2 Groups with 7 teams in each Group
• Each Team to play 6 league matches against the team in their group
• A total of 42 League matches to be played, followed by Quarter finals, Semifinals & Final
• Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for playoffs
• 20 over per innings with power play of 6 overs for all the matches (League & Play offs)
• 1 drinks break is allowed for each inning
• To be played with Guru Laser Ball
3. Match Rules
• Point System - 2 points for a win, 1 for a “no result”, 0 for a loss
• Net Run Rate (NRR) will determine league standings for teams equal on points in each group
• In case of a tie, a Super Over will be played. Guidelines are mentioned below
▪ The loss of two wickets shall end the batting team’s one over innings.
▪ Each team must nominate 3 batsmen and 1 Bowler before the start of Super Over. If Super over is played
again to determine result
▪ If the Super Over is a tie, subsequent Super Overs shall be played until a winner is determined
▪ Only nominated players in the match may participate in the Super Over.
▪ The team batting second in the match shall bat first in the Super Over.
▪ The Super Over shall be played with the same fielding restrictions as would be applicable for the last over in
an uninterrupted match.
▪ Any batsman dismissed in any previous Super Over shall be ineligible to bat in any subsequent Super Over.
▪ Any bowler who bowled in the previous Super Over shall be ineligible to bowl in the subsequent Super Over
• Quarter finals
The top 4 teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals:
Qualifier 1: Top 2 teams from the group face off. The winner advances directly to the semi-final.
Eliminator: Teams ranked 3rd and 4th in the group play each other. The loser is eliminated.

Qualifier 2: The loser of Qualifier 1 faces the winner of the Eliminator for the second semi-final spot.
This format ensures a fair chance for the top 2 teams in each group while keeping the competition exciting.
• Finals
Winner of Play offs 1 Vs Winner of Play offs 2
• This tournament has an impact player ruling, so the teams need to submit a list of 12 players before the
match. Impact player should be available on the ground, if not, then they won’t be allowed to participate.
(Match officials can maximum allow time till 1st 6 overs of the 1st innings)
• If the bowling team is taking the ground with less than 11 players, Match officials must be informed
• In case of delay due to unavoidable weather/ground conditions, the umpires will determine the number of
overs to be played. Each team should play/have played minimum Five (5) overs to have a result
• In case of entire match being called off, due to weather/ground conditions, equal points (1 point each) will be
awarded. There is no provision of a re-match except for the play-offs
• If the bowler bowls outside the cement pitch, it will be called a No Ball, and a free-hit will be awarded
• If the ball deviates from the edge of the pitch, it will be a wide ball
• Since it’s a tennis ball tournament, LBW isn’t included. Ball will be declared dead as soon as it hits directly the
leg/torso/head of the batsman and no run outs will be considered.
• If the main umpire has declared the batsman not out, leg umpire won’t be consulted for caught behind
decision. In such a scenario, leg umpire can only confirm if the ball was caught cleanly by the fielder
• A maximum of one bounce before the ball reaches the batsman’s popping crease is permitted. Any ball after
the 1st bounce is deemed a No ball.
• This tournament is being organized for Apartment/Society Residents ONLY. Team members can be residing in
different societies also. It is not required to be of the same society. As long as they are residing in any society
they are permitted. ONLY Players residing in the apartment (or owning flat) part of the team squad.
Tournament organizer reserves right to request for Address proof (any govt approved document/Visiting to
the apartment and verifying would be the last thing to do in case response is not satisfactory) in case of any
clash arises with regards to outside members (not apartment residents) being included in the team. If a team
is found to be played with outside player(s) in a particular match, that match points (2) will be given to the
Opponents. Captains need to raise any such concern before/after the match on the same day. Any request
raised beyond the match day will not be considered.
• Players cannot play from any other team than their own team at any stage of tournament.
• Only proper cricket attire is allowed, no shorts, slippers etc. will be allowed
• All other standard/latest ICC T20 Rules and Regulations will also apply for this tournament

• The Umpire’s Decision is FINAL and without recourse. Any indiscipline/dissent (few examples given below)
shown towards Match Officials (Organizers / Umpires / Scorers) will be penalized. Willfully mistreating any
part of the cricket ground, equipment or implements used in the match. Showing dissent to an umpire’s
decision by word or action, using language that, in the circumstances, is obscene, offensive, or insulting.
• Final decision taken by Umpires and Organizers MUST be respected and followed by everyone.
5. Rules_Rain Interruption
▪ If the rain situation is heavy where the game is not at all possible (umpire decision) then equal points will be
distributed.
▪ If it's raining before the start of the match, then the umpire will wait for rain to stop and reduced over options
(considering that particular match entirely needs to be completed within 2 hours 45 mins) will be given to both
captains.
▪ Once a match starts and rain stops first inning before 8 over where the remaining match is not at all possible
even after waiting then again equal points will be distributed. But if rain stops the play only for some time, then
reduced over match will conclude the result – UMPIRE’s Decision (considering that particular match entirely needs
to be completed within 2.15 hours).
▪ During the first inning if it rains after 8 over and rain stops the play only for some time then reduced over match
will conclude the result. But if rain doesn't stop in a limited time, then basis CricHeroes D/L method revised target
will be given to the fielding team to chase (considering that particular match entirely needs to be completed
within 2.15 hours).
▪ If rain starts in 2nd innings, match is not possible even after waiting then equal points will be given. But if rain
stops then umpires will decide the Overs and revise target will be given as per CricHeroes D/L for team to chase
(considering that particular match entirely needs to be completed within 2.45 hours)
LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST -- The tournament depends entirely on the spirit of cricket & everyone demonstrating respect,
fairness, friendship for each other & the game, so play hard have fun but at same time respect your own teammates /
opponents / officials and the game of cricket itself at all stages of the game/tournament both on and off field.
