SMS means Safety Management System.As per ISM code all company and it fleets should have valid DOC and SMC nowadays DOC-Document of Compliance retaind at shipping company and SMC-Safety Management Certificate retained onboard. 8.As per SMS,what is your duties and responsibilities? Where can you find your duties and responsibilities on board? If you want to knw your duties and responsibilities,where to find on board? How do you know your duties ad responsibilities on board? I can find my duties and responsibilities in Safety Management Manual. 9.Explain me some types of emergencies. Where can you find your emergency duties on board? Who will update emergency duties on board? Explain about Emergency Response procedures. There are: 1.Collision 2.Grounding 3.Stranding 4.Fire onboard 5.Man overboard 6.Steering Gear Failure 7.Main Engine Failure 8.Touching Bottom 9.Flooding 10.Electrical Power Failure

Seven or more short blasts followed by one long blast on ship whistle and/or electric bell I can find it on bridge,Engine Room,Passageways,etc Put on warm clothing,put on lifejacket,bring Immersion suit and proceeding to Muster station. 11.What is Fire Alarm?Where can you find that?What will you do on hearing Fire Alarm as Rating/Officer/Engineer? Cotinuous ringing on electric bell I can find it on Bridge,Engine room,Passageway,etc. Proceed to Muster Station 12.What is MOB Alarm? You are on deck and Vessel is at Sea,what is your action as Rating/Officer/Engineer? Three prolong Blast on Ship whistle and electric bell Release MOB life buoy,keep casuality in sight,increase lookout,inform Bridge and Engine room. 13.Explain ISM Code and ISPS Code?How do you understand ISM Code/ISPS Code?

ISM Code means International Safety Management Code,enforced in july,2002.All shipping company and SOLAS ship shall com Company should have valid DOC and Ship shall carry SMC.Implemented SMS and adopted SMM.

ISPS Code means International Ship and Port Facilities Security Code,enforced in July,2004.All SOLAS ship,Company and port f Company should appointed CSO and SSO onboard.Port Facilities should appointed PSFO. Company shall implement SSP and keep onboard. 14.Why do you need to attempt all these trainings and hold these Certificates?How do you understand STCW Code?

As per STCW-95,I should hold all relevants Certificates to work onboard.All trainings,Certifications and watchkeeping describe 15.How do you understand Rest/Work Hours?
