Presentation Determinants and Matrices

The document defines matrices and provides examples of operations that can be performed on matrices including addition, subtraction, scalar multiplication, and properties such as the associative property of addition. It includes examples of adding, subtracting, and multiplying matrices by scalars. The key points are that matrices must have the same dimensions to add or subtract them, scalar multiplication multiplies each element by the scalar, and properties like associativity only apply to addition and not multiplication.

When a zero matrix is added to another
matrix of the same dimension, that same
matrix is obtained.
To subtract matrices, we subtract the
corresponding elements. The matrices must
have the same dimensions.
