A COMPLETE LIST OF BLENDER PARTS

1. Blender Jar

This is the receptacle into which the ingredients are placed. The blender jar sits snugly or locks in
place on top of the main base which houses the motor and blade assembly. The bottom of the blender
jar is open to allow the blade access to do its job. Though many blender jars are made of glass they can
also be plastic and metal. Your more high-end blenders will have blender jars made from tempered
glass as well as having measurement markings on the side.

2. Blender Jar Lid

The jar lid covers the top of the blender jar allowing you to safely operate the blender without your
ingredients exploding from the jar. The lid is generally plastic or glass and usually has a rubber stopper
attached to form a tight seal
3. Jar Lid Center Cap
The center cap is that small plastic thing found in the center of the lid. It helps to keep liquids in but also
allows you to add ingredients easily while the blender is running.

4. Blender Blade Cutter

The blender blade cutter is the stainless steel blade that does all of the crushing, stirring, pureeing and
anything else your blender functions do.

5. O-Ring Seal
This is a flat piece of rubber that sits between the blender blade cutter and blender jar. It creates a seal so
that food particles and moisture do not get inside the motor and cause damage. These are also very cheap
to replace.

6. Blender Rubber Drive Clutch

Made out of rubber, this rests on top of the motor and on the bottom of the blade assembly.

7. Motor
This is hidden in the base of the blender.

How to maintain your BLENDER
3
There are three ways to maintain the
blender
Method 1; Using Your Blender
Correctly

1. Assemble the blender properly. Secure all the parts each time you use it, and follow any
instructions given in the blender's user manual regarding proper assembly.
2. Blend only appropriate items. Blenders are designed to chop up soft food items
and liquids, and should be used only for this purpose.
3. Cut up larger pieces of food. If you're blending large food items, like big chunks
of pineapple, watermelon, or citrus fruits, be sure to cut these into smaller pieces before
blending.
4. Add plenty of liquid to the mix that you're blending. A mixture that is too dry
will behave like a paste and push up away from the blades.
Method 2; Cleaning Your Blender

1. Clean your carafe after each use. Simply pour couple of cups of water and a few drops of dish
soap into the carafe.
2. Clean with lemon to remove stubborn stains. If your carafe still looks scummy
or streaky after you've cleaned it with soap, you can use a lemon to efficiently clean it.
3. Clean the blender thoroughly each month. Unscrew the blade assembly and pull out the
blender blades, gaskets, and other components. Wash these by hand using warm water and a soft rag
or sponge.
Method 3; Troubleshooting
Common Issues

1. Unblock jammed blades. If the blades do not rotate, make sure it is plugged in and that the
outlet has power.
2. Replace worn, bent, or dulled blades. Once they're worn out, the blades of a
blender cannot be sharpened.
3. Fix a leaking blender. If you notice liquid leaking out from around the bottom of the
carafe unit, there is most likely a small gap between the base of the blender unit and the carafe.
4. Replace a broken switch. If your blender is unresponsive when you flip its
on/off switch, or if it doesn't properly respond when you change speed settings, you
may need to replace the switch.
5. Take your blender in to an appliance repair shop. Some problems with your
blender will need to be handled by a professional.
