Warnings for Installation

! Set the locking catch to the position after the

circuit is installed onto the circuit adapter. Otherwise, the position
circuit will detach from the circuit adapter and cause damage
and serious fresh gas leak and
inaccurate tidal-volume measurement.

! KEEP the end of inspiration/expiration connectors

which connects the breathing tube downward to
prevent condensed water from entering the circuit, which
can result in inaccurate tidal volume.

Warnings for Installation

! Do not keep gas cylinder valves open when pipeline supply is in use.
Gas in cylinder supplies could run out, leaving an insufficient reserve supply in case of pipeline
failure.

! Make sure all seals are in position before installing the bellows folding bag,
Soda lime canister and O2 sensor (optional).

Breathing Circuit Test
Includes:

- Bellows Test
- Breathing Circuit Leakage Test in Mechanical Ventilation Mode
- Breathing Circuit Leakage Test in Manual Ventilation Mode

Note
 Make sure that the breathing circuit is correctly connected and not damaged.

 Make sure that the check valves in the breathing circuit work correctly:
1) The inspiratory check valve must open during inspiration and close at the
beginning of expiration.
2) The expiratory check valve must open during expiration and close at the beginning of
inspiration.

WARNING
 Any object in the breathing circuit can stop gas flow to the patient. This can cause injury or death.
Breathing Circuit Test
 Bellows Test
Setup

1. Operation mode -[Standby]

2. Bag/mechanical ventilation switch to -Mechanical ventilation position ( )
3. All flow controls set to minimum.
4. Block the outlet of the Y piece to close the breathing circuit.

Test Procedure

1. Press the to fill the bellow. Folding bag will rise to the top.
2. Note the readings of the airway pressure gauge is not above 15 cmH2O.
3. The folding bag should not fall. If it falls, there should be leakage. Pls reinstall the
bellows.
Breathing Circuit Test
 Breathing Circuit Leakage Test in Mechanical Ventilation Mode

Setup

1. Operation mode - [Standby]

2. Bag / mechanical ventilation switch - Mechanical ventilation position ( ).
3. Connect the manual bag to the manual bag port. - Picture
4. Connect the Y piece on the breathing tube to the -
leak test plug to block the outlet of the Y piece.
5. O2 flow - 0.2 L/min
6. Press the O2 flush button to fill the bellows, and the
folding bag will rise to the top.

Test Procedure

1. Go to [Maintenance] -> [Breathing System Leak Test >>] -> [Start].

2. During the test, the screen will display [Performing leak test].
3. After a successful test, the screen shows [Leak Test Completed!]. If the test fails, the
message [Leak Test Failure! Please try again.] will be displayed. Then, you will need to check
all possible leak sources, including bellows, breathing tubes, and soda lime canister.
4. Select to exit the current menu.
Breathing Circuit Test
 Breathing Circuit Leakage Test in Manual Ventilation Mode

Setup

1. Operation mode -[Standby]

2. Bag / mechanical ventilation switch -Bag position ( )
3. Connect the manual bag to the manual bag port.
4. APL valve -75 cmH2O
5. O2 flow -0.15-0.2L/min
6. Connect the Y piece on the breathing tube to the
leak test plug to block the outlet of the Y piece. Picture

Test Procedure

1. Press to make the reading of airway pressure gauge increase to approximately 30 cmH2O.

2. Release . A pressure decrease of the airway pressure gauge indicates a leakage.

(Below 30cmH2O)
APL Test

1. Connect the inspiration connector and bag arm port with a breathing tube, as
shown below
APL Test
2 Set the bag/mechanical ventilation switch to the bag position.

3. Set the APL valve reading to Min.

4. Push the .

5. The reading on the airway pressure gauge should fall within the range of 0 to 10
cmH2O.

6. Set the APL valve reading to 30 cmH2O.

7. Push the .

8. The reading on the airway pressure gauge should fall within the range of 25 to
35 cmH2O.

What if the reading on the airway pressure gauge fails to fall within the required
range during steps 3 through 8?......Refer to the next page

Preoperative Preparations
1. Make sure the ventilator parameters and alarm limits are set to applicable clinical
levels.
2. Make sure the system is in standby.
3. Make sure the equipment for airway maintenance, manual ventilation and
applicable anesthetic and emergency drugs are available.
4. Set the bag/mechanical ventilation switch to the bag position .
5. Connect the manual bag to the manual bag port.
6. Turn off all vaporizers.
7. Set APL valve to MIN position.
8. Set all gas flows to minimum.
9. Make sure that the breathing circuit is correctly connected and not damaged.

WARNING
Before connecting to a patient, flush the anesthesia machine with 5 L/min of O2 for at least 1
minute. This will remove unwanted mixtures, remainder and by-products from the system.
