DIFFERENT TYPES OF TOURISTS

BUSINESS TOURIST
• Tourist traveling with relation to business is
known as a business tourist.

• During business tourism (traveling),


individuals are still working and being paid,
but are doing so away from both their
workplace and home.
BUSINESS TOURIST
• Example of a
business tourist is a
salesman, who
makes trips to
different places to
attend trade shows,
to display and
promote his own
products also.
INCENTIVE TOURIST
• Incentives tourists are those few lucky
individuals, who get a holiday package as a
reward from his company, for good work or
achieving targets, set by the company.
• Incentive tourists draw inspiration from such
tours to work harder, improve work relations
and focus on team bonding.
INCENTIVE TOURIST
• Sometimes this type
of vacation will
include motivational
seminars, morale-
building activities
and other activities
that build upon
gathering of
employees.
RELIGIOUS TOURIST
• Religious tourists are the individuals who
travel to sites of religious significance.

• Catholics, for example, go on pilgrimages


to the Holy Land to experience the paths
where Jesus walked.
RELIGIOUS TOURIST
• Religious locations
like Hajj in Mecca,
Jerusalem in Israel,
Varanasi in India,
and the Vatican in
Rome.
CULTURAL TOURIST
• These types of tourists travel to experience
the essence of assorted cultures.
• Cultural tourists also prefer to witness the
different landmarks of a particular country or
World Heritage Sites of the traveled country.
CULTURAL TOURIST
• They may also
attend festivals and
ceremonies in order
to gain a better
understanding of
the people, their
beliefs, and their
practices.
ADVENTURE TOURIST
• Adventure tourists may have the motivation
to achieve mental states characterized as
rush or flow, resulting from stepping outside
their comfort zone.
• Adventure tourists look for some unusual
experience. They seek adventurous
activities that may be dangerous,
ADVENTURE TOURIST
• Such as rock
climbing, river
rafting, skydiving,
shark cave diving
and bungee
jumping.
HEALTH /MEDICAL TOURISTS
• The main focus of health or medical tourists
is improving one’s health, physical
appearance or fitness, which is only
possible away from home.
• Some of these tourists avail medical
assistance in other countries, for they may
be expensive in their own country.
HEALTH /MEDICAL TOURISTS
• promote the
expertise of their
doctors and
surgeons in the field
of cosmetic surgery
and invite foreigners
to have their
medical service.
SPORT AND RECREATION TOURIST
• This type of tourists travels to either
participate in recreational sporting or just
watch sports events.
• Sports tourism refers to travel which
involves either observing or participating in
a sporting event while staying apart from
the tourists' usual environment.

• Some of such
popular sports
events are the FIFA
World Cup and
FIBA
Intercontinental Cup
LEISURE TOURISTS
• To these people, travel is about fun and
excitement, about rest and relaxation.
• These tourists want to rejuvenate and
revitalize with comfort while enjoying a
break from the mundane routine of life.
LEISURE TRAVEL
• Leisure travel is often
characterized by staying in
nice hotels or resorts,
relaxing on beaches or in
a room, or going on guided
tours and experiencing
local tourist attractions.
