• By virtue of Proclamation No. 660 s. 1995, on October 21,
the Bureau of Archives, now the National Archives of the
Philippines was created, institutionalizing the discipline of
archiving in the country.

• Its main responsibility is to preserve the primary sources of


information on Philippine history, the basic components of
cultural heritage and collective memory. These documentary
sources are the embodiment of community identities as well
as testaments to shared national experiences.

• Established on the 13th of February 1960, the Lopez Museum
and Library (then the Lopez Memorial Museum) housed
primarily the prized works of Filipino master painters, Juan
Luna, and Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo, and prides itself in its
ever-growing collection of Rizaliana memorabilia and
Filipiniana materials.
• Hailed a university without professors by Claro M. Recto, the
Lopez Museum and Library through its visual arts collection
and its library holdings builds on history to foster national
pride.
• Its founder’s initial vision of the institution fostering
historical continuity has expanded to furthering prevailing
relevance of its collection in the recent years.

• The Museo De La Salle is a building designed after the
19th century Bahay na Bato and depicts the lifestyle of the

collections, it dedicates itself to the gathering of
collectible objects of intrinsic value significant to the
preservation of certain aspects of the Philippine ilustrado
