Indosat - Indonesia
Mobile services

• IP/MPLS solution for mobile broadband and premium IP

services to mobile customers
• Solution enables Indosat to fully exploit the scalability and
cost efficiencies of IP in the mobile backhaul network
• 7750 SR-a provides aggregation and edge nodes in their
mobile backhaul network
• Network includes the 7750 SR, 7705 SAR, 7450 ESS and
5620 SAM

“We are using [Nokia’s] 7750 SR-a platforms as aggregation and edge nodes in our mobile backhaul network. One of the key reasons
we selected this platform is due to its much higher throughput, service and routing scale compared to other platforms on the market.
In addition, we wanted a platform that would be LTE-ready. The compact 7750 SR-a allows us to drive down costs and still meet our
escalating traffic demands which are increasing well over 100% year-over-year.” John M. Thompson CTO of Indosat

India - Bharti Airtel
RNC Aggregator for RAN Network
• Airtel is providing mobile services in 23 circles/states across India. Dedicated
RNC aggregators are planned at few circles/states to aggregate all RNC’s onto
a pair of high capacity aggregation routers to provide a hierarchy for CS & PS
connectivity.
• RNC aggregation network will be dedicated for RNC connectivity & be
treated as an extension to existing MPBN & will home to its nearest MPBN
network.
• 7750 SR-a4 and 7750 SR-a8 will be used as RNC aggregation router for RAN
network
• Solution includes the 7705 SR-a4, 7750 SR-a8, and 5620 SAM

Basil Alwan, president of [Nokia’s] IP Routing and Optical business said: “We continue to evolve our IP hardware and NFV portfolio
in anticipation of our customers’ requirements. Our ‘Network Function Optimization’ approach recognizes that virtualized and
integrated routing solutions will be required for different applications, and that choice will be dictated by the economics and
architectural preference of each network operator. The success of our 7750 SR-a series affirms that we are on the right track and that
customers will require even higher-performance, high-function, QoS-intensive IP services on specialized hardware routing
platforms.”
