Measures of Position Q4 WEEK 1 1

The document discusses measures of position, which are used to locate the position of an observation in a data set. It defines quartiles, deciles, and percentiles, and provides the formulas to calculate them. Examples are given of finding the first quartile, second quartile, third quartile, fourth decile, sixth decile, and 35th and 80th percentiles of various data sets. The key measures of position - first quartile, second quartile (median), and third quartile - are shown to be equivalent to the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles respectively.

Steps in finding the
Measures of Position
1. Arrange the scores from lowest to highest.
2. Used the formula of measures of position
to determine the location of the score.
Example:
Given: 40, 24, 27, 15, 41, 32, 50, 22, 36
Arrange: 15, 22, 24, 27, 32, 36, 40, 41, 50
