make considered decisions or come to
sensible conclusions while considering
the text’s details.

Text Relevant Reader’s goal


Irrelevant(not relevant)- an information

Not all relevant information are TRUTHFUL.
Ideas or information are considered truthful once it
is verifiable.

The Process of Fact Checking


A. Read the material.
B. Read the material a second time, marking
passages for checking.
C. Write down the claims to check and list the
keywords and potential resources to research.
D. Do the research.

Types of Information Disorder
1. Fabricated Content – content is 100% false. It is designed
to deceive and to harm
2. Imposter Content – when genuine content is impersonated
3. Misleading Content – misleading use of information
designed to frame an issue or individual
4. Satire or Parody – no intention to cause harm but has
potential to fool
5. False Content- when genuine content is shared with false
contextual information
6. False Context – when genuine content is shared with false
contextual information
7. Manipulated Content – whengenuine information or
imagery is manipulated to deceive
