BOILER MFT

Boiler master fuel trip is basically a part of Boiler

Management System. It is actually the control circuit to send
trip commands to boiler systems and critical drives upon the
occurrence of unsafe operating conditions.
There are 19 conditions which may cause an MFT to occur.
When any unsafe condition arises, the field instruments sends
the signal to MFT Panel.
The signal is processed in this DCS controller & generates the
Digital Output signal.
This DO operates the MFT relay which in turn sends trip
commands to critical devices.

FURNACE PRESSURE HH

DI signal coming from three Furnace pressure switches to the DCS

MFT panel, 2/3 Logic performed in the controller. The three
Furnace pressure switches are:

10HBK02CP401HH (Left Side)

10HBK02CP402HH (Right Side) 2/3 5 SEC DEALY
10HBK02CP403HH (Right Side)

Alarm Value = 960 Pa

Trip Value = 3240 Pa
FURNACE PRESSURE LL

the DCS MFT panel, 2/3 Logic performed in the controller.
The three Furnace pressure switches are:

10HBK02CP404LL (Right Side)

STEAM DRUM WATER LEVEL HH

For measurement of steam drum level, compensated value is

considered-
There are 6 Drum Level Transmitter-

1.10HAG10CL301 4.10HAG10CL304
2.10HAG10CL302 5.10HAG10CL305
3.10HAG10CL303 6.10HAG10CL306.

The average of these 6 transmitter generate 3 DO signal from MCS

Panel to DCS MFT panel.

Drum Level HH2 2/3 Delay 10 sec.
Drum Level HH3

Alarm value =100mm

Trip value =300 mm
STEAM DRUM WATER LEVEL LL

BOILER TOTAL AIR FLOW LL

For measurement of Boiler Total air flow , compensated value is

considered.

Total Air Flow = Left side SA Flow + Right side SA Flow + Mill A to F

There are 2 Push Buttons on the Control Desk in CCR.

When both the buttons press at a time then MFT will occur.
