Tools in Plumbing works

PVC Pipe Cutter

This cutter makes smooth


clean cuts on small diameter
PVC pipe. Also used with
polyethylene (PEX) tubing.
G.I Pipe Cutter

Too much pressure on the


handle may cause the
cutting wheel to break.
Pipe Die

Pipe dies should not be used


for bolt threading as they
are tapered.
Pipe Die Stock

Operates as a ratchet in
both directions. Hold the
pipe die.
Pipe Threader Used in plumbing, mining and
industrial applications, these
tools enable precise cutting
and the attachment of male
and female pipe fittings.

Electric Drill

Fusion Machine
It is used for the joining of
plastic pipe and fittings. These
tools can be used to join
polypropylene, polyethylene,
PVDF and ECTFE pipe. Fusion
machines heat up the ends of
pipes and fittings, then forces
them together to form a bond.
Plumb Bob

It a weight, usually with a


pointed tip on the bottom,
suspended from a string and
used as a vertical
reference line, or plumb-
line.
Pipe Reamer

• Its designed to enlarge the size


of a previously formed hole by
a small amount but with a high
degree of accuracy to leave
smooth sides

• It is used to designed to
indicate whether a surface
is level on the horizontal or
vertical planes.

Water Pipes in Plumbing Works
GI PIPE
A pipe which is better fitted
for plumbing installation
than steel pipe. It is
constructed of rough iron,
dipped in molten zinc and
maybe identified by its dull
grayish color
PVC PIPE

Refers to Poly Vinyl Chloride

plumbing system.
PPR PIPE
Are a hot and cold water supply
system suitable for all potable
water applications and heating
systems. The pipes are made
from Beta PPR, the most
advanced PPR available today
and injection molded fittings
are made of Polypropylene

direction of flow
between two pipes
Tee Fitting
A type of pipe fitting which
is T-shaped having two
outlets, at 90° to the
connection to the main line.
It is a short piece of pipe
with a lateral outlet
Union Fitting
A pipe fitting is used in
plumbing system to join
multiple pipes of same size
or different sizes, ... Union is
a type of fitting, which
functions as similar to
coupling.
Coupling Fitting
A very short length of pipe or
tube, with a socket at one or
both ends that allows two pipes
or tubes to be joined, welded
(steel), brazed or soldered
(copper, brass etc.) together.
nipple pipe fitting
A short stub of pipe which
has a male pipe thread at
each end or at one end. It
used for connecting two
other fittings. Nipples are
used for connecting pipe,
hoses, and valves.
End Cap fitting
It is usually used for
protecting the end of pipe
and other fittings,so the
shape is disigned
according to the shape of
pipe line.
Male Adapter or adaptor fitting
An extremely
important pipe fitting
that extend or
terminate pipe runs.
They are used to
connect dissimilar
pipes.
Female Adapter or adaptor fitting
Gate Valve

It is designed for fully open

or fully closed service. They
are installed in pipelines as
isolating valves, and should
not be used as control or
regulating valves.
