1st unit set up in Bhopal in August 1956. B.H.E.L. is the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India in the energy/infrastructure sector with strong man force of 82000 people. RANIPAT JAGDISHPUR RUDRAPUR BANGALORE

CSU(CENTRALISED STAMPING UNIT) is a new

manufacturing unit of BHEL which is at Jagdishpur, UP with an investment of 94 Crore for manufacturing of 130 lakes stamping per year . CSU shall manufacture following product. For Transportation Sector: Stator Stampings Rotor Stampings Armature Stampings Main Pole Stampings Compole Stampings

For Industrial Applications: Stator / Rotor Stampings

(up to 1250mm and Segmental up to 2400mm)


Details of Machine installed

500 T blanking line


Segmental Notching Machine Varnishing line Tool Grinding Machine Projection Welding Machine Spot Welding Machine

The Blanking line shall

be capable of blanking circular & segmental blanks and finished stampings for stator and rotors of rotating electrical machines

Operations will be done on the blanking line-

Coil de-coiling, coil straightening ,coil feeding


Lamination Punching ,Lamination Unload Lamination Stacking.

The Varnishing Line is to be used for varnishing of

stampings of electrical sheet steel for rotating electrical machines. varnishing Line shall be a complete unit having facility for de-burring, cleaning, varnishing, curing and cooling of stampings with manual loading and unloading. The varnishing line is required for application of varnish coating on ETS sheets stampings of hydro generators.

The machine will be equipped with following operations


De-burring of stamping Brushing & dust removal Varnish curing

The Segment Notching

Machine shall be capable of notching circular & segmental blanks of electrical sheet steel for stator and rotors of rotating electrical machines. Loading and unloading of the blanks shall be manual.

CRNGO ( Cold Rolled Non Grain Oriented

) Steel is used as raw material for stampings where as Cold Rolled Carbon Alloy ( CRCA ) steel and mild Steel are used for vent Stampings and spacers respectively. The stampings for the Hydro Generators need special varnish coating over it.

For the controlling ; we use several PLC-programmable

logic controller, A programmable logic controller (PLC) or programmable controller is a digital computer used for automation of electromechanical processes. the PLC is designed for multiple inputs and output arrangements, extended temperature ranges, immunity to electrical noise, and resistance to vibration and impact

The main difference from other

computers is that PLCs are armored for severe conditions (such as dust, moisture, heat, cold) and have the facility for extensive input/output (I/O) arrangements
PLCs read limit switches,

analog process variables (such as temperature and pressure), and the positions of complex positioning systems. Some use machine vision. PLC is based on lader logic

The electrical sub station at BHEL is to care

for e power needs of BHEL CSU jagdishpur. There are one incoming feeders from kathaura power house situated at industrial area of jagdishpur. . The feeders are connected to step down transformers (11KV/433 V) In case of power failure there are two backup DG sets.
