INTRODUCTI
ON
Objective
The primary objective of this project is to identify and
analyze trends in various crime against women across
different regions of India.

Dashboards
Create interactive dashboards to visualize crime
trends and patterns, facilitating an intuitive
understanding of the data and findings.

Action
We aim to evaluate specific hypotheses related to
regional differences in crime rates, to inform more
effective policy and intervention strategies.

CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN
This horizontal bar chart ranks states
by the total number of crimes against
women, providing clear visibility into
which regions are most problematic
and may need urgent attention and
resources.

GRAPH
This line graph tracks various types of
crimes over the years. It’s crucial for
understanding trends over time, such
as increases or decreases in specific
crime types, which can guide policy
changes or law enforcement focus.

H0: There is no significant difference in the mean rape counts
between Northern and Southern India.

H1: There is a significant difference in the mean rape counts

between Northern and Southern India.

Test Used:

Two-sample independent t-test: We compare the mean rape

counts for Northern and Southern India across the years.
RESULTS AND
INTERPRETATIONS
t-Statistic. : 5.078 -5
P-value (two-tailed) : 3.04868 x (10)

The p-value is significantly below the commonly accepted alpha

level of 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀).

RATES
H0: The population size of a state has no significant effect on
the total crime rate.

H1: The population size of a state significantly affects the

total crime rate.

Test Used:

Linear regression was chosen for testing the hypothesis regarding

population size and total crime rates because it quantitatively
assesses the impact of population on crime.

The p-value is less than the significance level (α = 0.05), indicating
strong statistical evidence against the null hypothesis.
