Page Breaks
To insert page breaks:
1.Place the insertion point where you want to create the page
break.
2.On the Insert tab, click the Page Break command. You can also
press Ctrl+Enter on your keyboard.
3.The page break will be inserted into the document, and the text
will move to the next page.
Section Breaks
- create a barrier between different parts of a document, allowing
you to format each section independently.

To insert section breaks:


1.Place the insertion point where you want to create the break.
2.On the Page Layout tab, click the Breaks command, then select
the desired section break from the drop-down menu.
3.A section break will appear in the document.
4.The text before and after the section break can now be formatted
separately.
5.The formatting will be applied to the current section of the
document.
Other Types of Breaks
When you want to format the appearance of columns or modify
text wrapping around an image, Word offers additional break
options that can help:

•Column: When creating multiple columns, you can apply a


column break to balance the appearance of the columns. Any text
following the column break will begin in the next column.
•Text wrapping: When text has been wrapped around an image
or object, you can use a text-wrapping break to end the wrapping
and begin typing on the line below the image.
To delete a break
1.On the Home tab, click the Show/Hide command.
2.Locate the break you want to delete, then place the insertion
point at the beginning of the break.
3.Press the Delete key. The break will be deleted from the
document.
Find and Replace
If you’re working with a lot of text and need to search and replace
a word or a phrase, use Find and Replace.

To use Find and Replace:


1.Select Replace or press Ctrl + H.
2.In the Find what box, type the text you want to search for.
3.Select Find Next to see where the text appears in your file.
4.In the Replace with box, type the text you want.
5.Select Replace to change the text or select Replace All to
change all instances of this text in your file.
Lay-out Pages
Change Margins

In Word, each page automatically has a one-inch margin. You can


customize or choose predefined margin settings, set margins for
facing pages, allow extra margin space to allow for document
binding, and change how margins are measured.

To change margins:
1.Select Layout > Margins.
2.Select the margin configuration you want or select Custom
Margins to define your own margins.

Newsletter Columns

To create newsletter columns:


1.To lay out the whole document in columns, select Layout >
Columns.
2.Choose the option you want or choose More Columns to set
your own column format.

Make part of your document into columns:


3.Select the paragraphs you want to lay out in columns.
4.Select Layout > Columns, and then choose the options you

Change Orientation

To Change orientation of whole document


1.Select Layout > Orientation.
2.Choose Portrait or Landscape.

Change part of a document to landscape:


3.Select the content that you want on a landscape page.
4.Go to Layout and open the Page Setup dialog box.
5.Select Landscape, and in the Apply to box, choose Selected
text.
Border

To add/change border to a page:


1.Go to Design > Page Borders.
2.Make selections for how you want the border to look.
3.To adjust the distance between the border and the edge of the
page, select Options. Make your changes and select OK.
