SIRE 2.

0

WHY SIRE 2.0
-Outdated , time of a change
-Previous protocol was more -equipment focus/too many Questions
-Question were not targeted - not focused towards higher risk areas
-Inspector bias – areas inspected / Prime discipline

-Time spent on specific areas / Fulfilment of VIQ
-Critical operation not repeatedly covered
-Time management not consistence
-Most shipping incident due human error
-Does not allow for after inspection assessment
-Data mining

• An example would be CVIQ 4.2.3, pertaining to
Master Standing Instruction
• These questions have been developed to

Questions against TMSA.
• These are known as conditional questions
Summary since they are allocated based on information
provided by the vessel operator through the
Pre-Inspection Questionnaire ( PIQ)
CONDITIONAL • Examples of Conditional Question would be
CVIQ, related CAP, VOC, static Navigational

Assessment by Specialist Contractor ( 3.2.3),
etc
This would be a new or “existing rotational”
