INPUT DEVICES

 An input device
is any hardware
KEYBOAR MOUSE OPTICAL device that sends
D PEN data to a computer
allowing you to
interact with and
control it.
WEB CAM SCANNER JOYSTICK
KEYBOARD
A keyboard is one of the
primary input devices used
with a computer. Like an
electric typewriter, a keyboard
is composed of buttons to
create letters, numbers and
symbols and perform
additional functions.
MOUSE
A mouse is used to move a
little cursor around the screen,
clicking and dragging as you
go. The computer is relying on
you to move the mouse, the
mouse won’t move on its own.
Therefore it is an input device.
OPTICAL PEN
Optical pen is a computer input device
in the form of a light-sensitive stick
used in conjunction with a CRT
monitor. It is capable of detecting the
light emitted by the monitor and, thus,
allowing the user to point objects on
the screen or draw on it with great
positional precision.
WEB CAM
As an input device, a webcam captures video or
images using an image sensor, such as a
Charged Coupled Device (CCD) or a
Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor
(CMOS). These sensors convert light into
electronic signals, which are then processed and
transmitted to a computer or other devices.
Additionally, webcams may also contain a built-
in microphone to capture audio.
SCANNER
 A scanner can be used to digitise images.
They’re similar to a photocopier but they
make a digital copy instead of a physical
copy.
 A computer scanner is a digitizer, which is a
type of input device. It takes real-world
objects (e.g., a document or picture) and
converts them to digital information for a
computer to store or manipulate.
JOYSTICK
A joystick is a pointing and controlling
device that is commonly used for
controlling video games and moving
required objects on the system screen. An
input device which is called a joystick is
used to control a machine or character in a
computer program, like an aircraft in a
flight simulator system.
OUTPUT DEVICES
 An output device is a
computer hardware
device that retrieves
and presents the result
PRINTER
of the inserted input
MONITOR HEADPHONE
data from the
computer system and
further translates that
data into human-
understandable
SPEAKER PROJECTOR language.
MONITOR
 A computer monitor is an
output device that displays
information in pictorial or textual
form. A discrete monitor comprises
a visual display, support
electronics, power supply, housing
, electrical connectors, and external
user controls.
PRINTER
 A printer is basically an
output device which prints
a hard copy of the
electronic data that is
stored in the computer or
any other devices.
HEADPHONE
 When headphones are connected to a
computer (laptop, smartphone, etc.),
they receive information outputted
from the computer. This means
headphones are output devices.
Headphones with built-in
microphones are input and output
devices according to the computer.
SPEAKER
 Speakers are the type of transducers by use
electromagnetic waves that convert
electromagnetic waves into sound waves. It is
used to connect to a computer system which
creates a sound that is considered an output part
of computer systems. here the user may give an
audio input to the systems which is either in
analog or digital form to create analog
electromagnetic waves (analog speaker) to give
sound waves as an output.
PROJECTOR
The projector is an output device of a
computer that is used to display images on
the large screen generated by a computer
system.

The projector plays a vital role when

displaying certain information like
presentations, videos, etc. to a wide audience
just like television and computer monitors
