Bat'leth的复制品（最上面的那一把是Kahless之剑（英语：The Sword of Kahless））

Bat'leth（克林贡语：betleH，粗略发音：[ˈbɛtʰlɛx]）是一种双面兵器，刀刃呈弧形，其中一面有三个握把。这种兵器是《星际旅行》系列中克林贡人特有的近战武器（英语：Melee weapon），由电视剧《星际旅行：下一代》的特效师丹·柯瑞（英语：Dan Curry）设计，参考自中国的偃月刀。Mek'leth（克林贡语称作meqleH）是Bat'leth衍生出的一种较小的版本，以北部藏族的马刀为原型。

在电视剧的某些集数中，Bat'leth扮演着重要的角色，而后还出现在电影版和改编游戏中。Bat'leth是粉丝们心目中的《星际旅行》代表性物品之一，且多次出现在其他媒体中，如科幻电视剧《星际之门：SG-1》（2002年）和电影《头号玩家》（2018年）等。不过在英国和美国，曾有与Bat'leth相关的违法行为发生。

外观与设计

Bat'leth长1.16米（3.8英尺）至1.5米（4.9英尺）左右，重量通常超过5公斤[1]，其两面刀刃呈弧形，两端各有两个尖角。Bat'leth的其中一面有三个握把，便于使用者快速旋转刀刃和近战[2][3]。

1990年，在获得制作人赖克·伯曼同意后[4]，特效师丹·柯瑞（英语：Dan Curry）为电视剧《星际旅行：下一代》的主要角色之一沃尔夫（克林贡人，由麦可·道恩（英语：Michael Dorn）饰演）设计了Bat'leth[5][6]。Bat'leth的设计参考自中国的偃月刀[7]。身兼武术家的柯瑞也为Bat'leth设计了一套使用动作，这套动作有些类似进行仪式时跳的舞蹈和太极拳[2][7][8]。1995年，柯瑞又根据北部藏族的马刀设计了Bat'leth的缩小版“Mek'leth”[8]，让道恩饰演的沃尔夫在《星际旅行：深空九号》中使用。Mek'leths是种单手用武器，外型像弯刀，大小大概是Bat'leth的一半[3][9]。

在《星际旅行》中

一把普通版的Bat'leth

在《星际旅行》中，克林贡人Kahless（英语：Kahless）在西元625年左右首度打造了Bat'leth。据克林贡人的神话，当时Kahless先将他的头发扔进Kri'stak火山的岩浆中，接着将头发泡进Lursor湖里冷却、塑形并强化，锻造出刀刃[5]。这把Bat'leth被称作“Kahless之剑”，Kahless用它杀死了名为Molor的暴君[5]。Kahless之剑后来被入侵克林贡的种族Hur'q偷走[5]。在《星际旅行：深空九号》的一集《Kahless之剑（英语：The Sword of Kahless）》中，沃尔夫与另一位克林贡人Kor重新发现Kahless之剑，但最后他们决定将它传送（英语：Transporter (Star Trek)）进太空，避免他们用这把剑自相残杀[10]。不过，Kahless之剑与普通的Bat'leth不同，前者有五个尖角、一个握把，而后者则有四个尖角、三个握把[10]。

在克林贡语中，Bat'leth最早称作“batlh'etlh”，后来精简成“betleH”[11]。batlh'etlh这个词有“荣耀之剑”的意味[3]，在克林贡人的社会中是很宝贵的物品[12]。Bat'leth是用一种强化金属“baakonite”制成的[9][13]。

Bat'leth出现在《星际旅行：下一代》、《星际旅行：航海家号》、《星际旅行：深空九号》和《进取号》[14]的其中29集中。1994年上映的电影版《星际旅行VII：日换星移》里也有出现Bat'leth[7]。Mek'leth在《星际旅行：深空九号》和电影版《星际旅行VIII：第一次接触》（1996年）中出场[9]。电子游戏方面，Bat'leth出现在《星际旅行：克林贡（英语：Star Trek: Klingon）》（1996年）[15]和《Star Trek: The Next Generation: Klingon Honor Guard（英语：Star Trek: The Next Generation: Klingon Honor Guard）》（1998年）[16]中，而Kahless之剑则出现在《星际迷航之舰队（英语：Star Trek: Armada）》（2000年）里[17]。Bat'leth于《星际旅行：下一代》的其中一集《团圆（英语：Reunion (Star Trek: The Next Generation)）》中初登场，剧中沃尔夫教导儿子亚历山大（Alexander）如何使用Bat'leth，并用Bat'leth杀死了凶手Duras，为死去队友K'Ehleyr报仇[18]。在《星际旅行：航海家号》的一集《亡者之船（英语：Barge of the Dead）》和《星际旅行：深空九号》的一集《Tacking into the Wind（英语：Tacking into the Wind）》里，Bat'leth占有很重要的地位。在前者中，杜沃克透过Bat'leth教导贝拉娜·朵芮丝有关她身世的事[19]，而在后者中，沃尔夫透过一场Bat'leth决斗杀死了克林贡最高议会（英语：Klingon High Council）的领导者高隆（英语：Gowron），将克林贡总理的职位交给马托克（英语：Martok）将军[20]。Bat'leth和Mek'leths后来也有在《星际迷航：发现号》中登场，但外观有所改变[21]。于2020年发布的《星际旅行》动画《星际迷航：下层舰员》中，也有出现Bat'leth[22]。

Bat'leth在粉丝的心目中占有一定的地位，设计者丹·柯瑞（英语：Dan Curry）也称Bat'leth为“《星际旅行》的代表性物品”[7]。Bat'leth的复制品十分常见，在许多商店（如复制品商店、武器贩卖店和当铺）都可以买得到[23]。它们被粉丝们当作克林贡人服装的一部分来收藏[7][24]。曾制作过《星际旅行》和《星际大争霸》的罗兰·D·摩尔（英语：Ronald D. Moore）也在他的办公室摆了一把Bat'leth[25]。不过，因为Bat'leth的复制品可能会造成危险，因此Bat'leth在部分地区被列为违禁品（见#合法问题）[26]。

Bat'leth的受欢迎程度让许多武术团队逐渐出现。这些团队的目标是设计出一种与柯瑞不同的Bat'leth武术，他们模仿过的对象包含柔术、剑道和双节棍[27]。MileHiCon（英语：MileHiCon）和StarCon上甚至举办过Bat'leth武术大赛[28]。

Bat'leth也出现在其他电视剧中，包含科幻电视剧《星际之门：SG-1》的集数《多出的人》（The Other Guys，2002年）[29]、侦探电视剧《神经妙探》的《蒙克大战眼睛蛇》（Mr. Monk vs. the Cobra，2005年）[30]、动作喜剧《宅男特务》的《Chuck Versus the Beard（英语：Chuck Versus the Beard）》（2010年）[7]和情景喜剧《宅男行不行》的《The Zarnecki Incursion》（2011年）[31]。在电影《头号玩家》（2018年）中，Bat'leth也有以彩蛋的方式出现[32][33][34]。

合法问题

Bat'leth的复制品通常都是用金属制成的，有一定的危险性。一位英国警方发言人表示，不锈钢制的Bat'leth“光从字面上来看就让人想要将之列为违禁品”[35]。媒体在报导以Bat'leth为犯案工具的罪案时，也曾以“弧形双尖克林贡剑”（double-pointed Klingon crescent-shaped sword）[36]、“克林贡剑”（Klingon-type sword）[36][37]或“双尖弯刀”（double-pointed scimitar）等来称呼Bat'leth[38]。

英国

在英国，私下拥有Bat'leth并不违法，但若有犯罪嫌疑就可能会被扣押[39]。Bat'leth被归类为武器，将之携带至公共场合是违法的[26]。2006年，格洛斯特郡警局（英语：Gloucestershire Constabulary）查获一把Bat'leth[35]。2008年，牛津的一位17岁少年企图将Bat'leth偷渡进学校时被逮到，警方表示“这种武器极其恐怖”[40]。最后，这位少年必须在少年感化机构待6个月[40]。2009年，达拉谟郡比林汉姆的一位男子因在街道上携带Bat'leth而被捕。在法庭文件中，Bat'leth又被称为“多刃剑”（multi-bladed sword）。法官说，“我这辈子从未见过这种事”[26]。这位男子在提赛德（英语：Teesside）皇室法院认罪[26]，被判入狱13个星期。这把Bat'leth被没收并销毁[41]。2009年，在兰开夏郡的阿克宁顿，警方缉获了一把Bat'leth[39]。2017年，又有一把Bat'leth被警方查获[12]。2019年2月，在柴郡的威德尼斯，由于当地发生一起伤人案件，警方突击搜查一名少年嫌疑犯的住处，搜到一把Bat'leth和许多武器。虽然如此，警方表示，这名少年并不会因为私藏这把Bat'leth而面临法律责任。[42][43]

在美国，各个州对Bat'leth是否合法的规定都不同。2009年2月，在科罗拉多州的科罗拉多泉，有人用Bat'leth抢劫了两家7-Eleven[36][44]。科罗拉多泉警局（英语：Colorado Springs Police Department）表示，Bat'leth是一种致命的武器[24][45]。在新泽西州，Bat'leth被认定为武器，可能会被扣押。2010年，联邦调查局（FBI）在攻进一位医疗保险诈欺犯的豪宅时，查获并扣押了许多武器，其中包含一把Bat'leth[46]。2012年，美国运输安全管理局（TSA）在拉瓜地亚机场查获有旅客试图将类似Bat'leth放在随身行李中携带[47]。类似事件于2015年在波多黎各的路易斯·穆尼奥斯·马林国际机场再度发生[47]。
