Pho4是一種在釀酒酵母S. cerevisiae)中發現的鹼性螺旋-環-螺旋(bHLH)轉錄因子,在其它酵母中也有發現[2]

Pho4蛋白形成同源二聚體後進入細胞核結合DNA,其識別位點為:5'-CACGTG-3'[3],這一序列常出現在Pho5磷酸酶基因啟動子區域[4]
