- Toys & Merchandise
- Mixmaster is a Decepticon Constructicon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Nothing is safe. From raw ore to living robots, it all goes into Mixmaster's grisly drum where it's reduced, refined, and recombined into virtually any raw material the Decepticons need. Watching Mixmaster prepare a new batch of materials is like seeing some mad alchemist at work, giggling and cackling over his creations with evil glee. It would be a stretch to call him a scientist; a better comparison would be to a witch throwing arcane scraps into her cauldron to complete a bubbling potion. His fellow Decepticons suspect Mixmaster of having a few wires loose in his logic center, but they can't argue with the results. He transforms into Devastator's left leg.

Mixmaster's origins are muddy. He was supposedly alive on Cybertron several million years ago, where he helped create Megatron. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4 According to Omega Supreme, however, Mixmaster and the other Constructicons were nice guys back then and built Crystal City which Omega guarded. This changed when Megatron attacked the Constructicons with his Robosmasher, effectively reprogramming them into Decepticons. The Secret of Omega Supreme
In 1984, Mixmaster and the Constructicons were stationed on Earth, where Megatron claimed to have built them. One of their first missions was to sabotage the Autobot computer Teletraan I while the Autobots were distracted, and Mixmaster helped by mixing up an acid strong enough to melt through solid rock and the floor of Autobot headquarters. Ultimately they were driven back by the Dinobots and despite forming the mighty Devastator, they were knocked into a river of lava. Heavy Metal War The Constructicons survived and continued to work with Megatron during his various schemes. During one such scheme, namely the reconstruction of New York City into New Cybertron, Mixmaster repeated himself a lot ("Auto-auto-autobots!"). This 'never' happened again, but everyone assumes it was his standard vocal quirk anyway. City of Steel
Mixmaster and the Constructicons went on to build the Transfixatron and an Autobot-eating machine, but were eventually defeated by the former. The Autobot Run Next on the agenda was drilling a hole to Earth's core so that Megatron could drain its energy. During this project, the Constructicons got dominator disks snuck onto them, with Mixmaster and Long Haul getting theirs from Mirage and his gun. This allowed the Autobots to control Devastator and use him against the Decepticons, although this scheme eventually broke down. The Core Some time afterwards, the Constructicons helped the Autobots Grapple and Hoist build the Solar Power Tower, only to trap them inside the structure and hand it over to Megatron as soon as it was done. The Master Builders
Mixmaster and company later took care of a space bridge shipment of Cybertonium from Cybertron. Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 1 Following that, they went into space to mine minerals from an asteroid. Omega Supreme, miffed about the Constructicons going evil and wrecking Crystal City back in the day, attacked and nearly killed them. Luckily for Mixmaster, the giant Autobot had to leave to deal with some kind of alien that had lived inside the asteroid, and the Constructicons escaped termination. The Secret of Omega Supreme When Blitzwing betrayed Megatron and took control of the Decepticons, he promised the Constructicons a joint leadership if they built him a giant maze. When they were done, Blitzwing abandoned his promise and told them to jump of a bridge, so the Constructicons formed Devastator and attacked him. Eventually, Megatron defeated all of them and took control again. Triple Takeover
The Constructicons later built a ruby-powered laser cannon, Masquerade and were defeated by the newborn Bruticus. Starscream's Brigade In preparation of the attack on Autobot City, Megatron, Starscream and the Constructicons boarded an Autobot shuttle. Mixmaster participated in the barrage of laser blasts that killed Ratchet and severely damaged Ironhide, and soon enough he found himself attacking Autobot City itself. As Devastator, the Constructicons did heavy damage to the city, but they were sent packing when Megatron was defeated by Optimus Prime. Retreating on board Astrotrain, the Decepticons soon started scuffling about who should be the new leader. The Constructicons were prevented from forming Devastator, and eventually Starscream came out on top. The Transformers: The Movie
The Decepticons were soon exiled to Chaar, where Mixmaster fought his teammates for the few scraps of energon they could find. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1 The Constructicons briefly joined up with the Quintessons when the aliens offered them energon, Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2 but when Galvatron returned, they switched their loyalty back to the Decepticon cause. Galvatron soon allied with the Quintessons himself, and the factions concocted a plan that involved the Constructicons building Trypticon out of a human city. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4 Mixmaster and the Constructicons went on to built a massive rocket engine on an asteroid Carnage in C-Minor, participate in the attack on Paradron Fight or Flee, and join up with Predaking to attack Broadside in the sea of Japan. The Burden Hardest to Bear They were last seen among the Decepticon forces that invaded Cybertron in order to infiltrate the Plasma Energy Chamber. The Rebirth, Part 1

On an island paradise, Mixmaster and the Constructicons were performing excavation work for Megatron's new fortress, at the cost of the natural resources and precious animals. The Autobots arrived to stop the Decepticons. Despite their vast power, Trypticon and the combined Devastator failed to defeat the Autobots due to their lack of teamwork, and the Constructicons were knocked back into their component parts. In the year 2010, Mixmaster participated in a Decepticon attack on the planet Feminia. He and his team merged into Devastator in order to battle alongside Bruticus and Menasor against their Autobot counterparts Superion, Defensor and Omega Supreme. The fight was fairly evenly matched until Galvatron called up his ace-in-the-hole, Predaking, whose power was unmatched by any of the Autobots... except for the Omnibots, who essentially tied Predaking's shoelaces together until he fell over, straight into Devastator and his chums, sending them all toppling to the ground and knocking them to bits. Scramble City: Mobilization
When the Decepticons learned of the Scramble City project being secretly assembled by the Autobots, Megatron sent his henchmen to interfere with their work. The Constructicons joined Starscream and his flying partners in an attack on the Autobots. Optimus Prime and a task force of Autobots held their position until Mixmaster and the Constructicons inevitably joined forces into Devastator. The Aerialbots gave Devastator a good whippin', though, and the Decepticons retreated. Scramble City: Mobilization

Mixmaster and the Constructicons were stationed on Earth in 2011, under the command of Sixshot. They attempted to prevent Ultra Magnus from sending reinforcements to Cybertron to help the Autobots fend off Galvatron's siege on Vector Sigma. Mixmaster and his squad were ganging up on the Trainbots until Metroplex arrived and shooed them off with his superior firepower. Having failed to stop the Autobot reinforcements from departing, the Constructicons followed them to Cybertron. As Devastator, they tried to shoot Superion in the back, but Optimus Prime foiled their aim, making them hit Abominus instead. Nine million years ago, Mixmaster was a member of the construction team that built Crystal City. It was during this project that he and his fellow Constructicons were introduced to Omega Supreme. Hauler's Wings of Honor profile The Constructicons rose to prominence thanks to their immense architectural skills, and formed their own faction under the leadership of Hook. They were forced to align themselves with the Decepticons in order to maintain access to Kaon's smelting pools, which granted him access to the raw building material they needed to continue their work. Unhappy with this arrangement, seven renegade Constructicons went underground, building Megatron in an attempt to take power for themselves. Unfortunately for them, Megatron turned on them and formed his own group of Decepticons, eventually brainwashing Mixmaster and the others into his service with the Robo-Smasher. Early in the Transformers' war on Earth, Shockwave used the stolen power of the Creation Matrix to give life to the first of a new generation of Decepticon warriors, the Constructicons. Mixmaster and the other Constructicons were immediately given a mission upon their coming online—construct a communications tower to transmit a message to Cybertron. A truckstop was raided for raw materials, attracting the ire of trucker Bomber Bill, who, with the aid of the Autobots, managed to destroy the tower the Constructicons had built. The Next Best Thing to Being There!
Mixmaster and the Constructicons, after troubleshooting their union as Devastator, were sent by Shockwave to abduct Buster Witwicky. After tracking the boy down to a demolition derby, and merging into Devastator to fend off the Autobots they found there, the Constructicons' attack was suddenly called off. While Devastator battled, Soundwave had discovered that Buster held the rest of the Creation Matrix in his head, and considered this too great a revelation to proceed as initially planned. Devastation Derby!
Mixmaster joined Soundwave and Shockwave in spying on a prophetic vision that Optimus Prime and Buster shared. He was miffed when everyone started talking about these lah-de-dah Special Teams that appeared in said vision, and the Constructicons became last year's model. Second Generation!
After Megatron took back Decepticon command, Mixmaster and his comrades were charged with building perimeter defences around their headquarters located at the base of a coal strip mine in eastern Wyoming. Devastator's services were again required when the Autobots staged a surprise attack, but they retreated once they had what they needed; data on the Constructicons' combining capabilities. Command Performances!
In vehicle mode, Mixmaster carried Megatron to the city of Portland, Oregon, where they questioned a film crew for LCTV on Robot-Master and Joy Meadows' whereabouts. When Centurion appeared and attacked Megatron, Mixmaster helped his commander in battle by catching his gun mode and firing at Centurion. Later, Mixmaster followed his Decepticon teammates to the location of the Dinobots, and during the ensuing fight, Swoop picked him off. Eventually, Soundwave ended the fight, destroying Meadows' footage, and the Decepticons left the area. In the National Interest
The Constructicons were sent into frigid Yukon territory to work on a secret project. They were discovered by Jazz and Hoist, only for the two Autobots to accidentally betray their presence with an accidental weapons discharge. The Constructicons chased down the interlopers, blasting at them through a nearby forest. During the chase, they merged into Devastator in an attempt to overtake the pair. While in this form, they were duped into blasting a hydro-electric dam. Realizing what was coming, the Constructicons only had time enough to separate before the concrete structure collapsed, unleashing a torrent of water. The Constructicons were submerged in the flood, allowing the Autobots to escape. The Mission
Later, when the time travelling Decepticon leader Galvatron incapacitated Megatron and Soundwave he made the Constructicons build a giant weapon for him, though this would ultimately be destroyed thanks to the efforts of Ultra Magnus and the similarly time travelling Hot Rod, Kup and Blurr. Target: 2006
Mixmaster and the other Constructicons were called upon to defend the Decepticons' base in the Florida Keys from a joint attack by G.I. Joe, Cobra, and the Autobots. Once again forming Devastator, they brawled with Superion until a blast from Superion's rifle caused a malfunction in Devastator's coupling links and he broke up into his components. ...All Fall Down!
During Ratbat's command, an attack was ordered on the combined Autobot forces on Earth's moon while Blaster and Grimlock dueled for leadership. Under cover of battle, Mixmaster and the other Constructicons retrieved the remains of several fallen and captured Decepticons. Totaled!

Mixmaster was a known dealer of Syk, a forbidden circuit booster. Zesty. Secrets
Mixmaster chose to work for Megatron once he and Shockwave split the Decepticon faction on Earth. He and Long Haul ran into the Autobots Prowl and Wheeljack while guarding Megatron's ozone rocket, but didn't last long in the fight—Mixmaster ended up leaping over a rushing Wheeljack and landing hard on Prowl's fist. Starting Over! At Megatron's side during the Enclave, Mixmaster was present when a hidden sniper began taking potshots at his leader. He returned fire along with Soundwave and Motormaster, and Shockwave's minion Headstrong fell to the floor from his perch, an apparent assassin sent by his leader. This led to an enormous skirmish between the two factions, who little realized it had been arranged by some canny Autobot surveyors. The Bad Guy's Ball!
Mixmaster was listening to Scrapper tell stories in the Decepticon base's hallway while Soundwave was mentally searching for traitors... and blackmail information. Secrets
He was last seen charging into battle with the other Decepticons when they made an ill-fated siege on Autobot Earthbase. Their goal was to kill some Autobots, while also distracting them as Starscream looted a human oil tanker in the Gulf of Mexico. Both goals proved fruitless, and the Decepticons were driven off. The Constructicons were among the troops that Megatron covertly rebuilt on Earth after Bludgeon's defeat and exile. But both Mixmaster and Hook were curiously absent from the team, with the enigmatic Hightower in their place. Hightower himself joked about stripping enough spare parts off of Grimlock to "build a new Hook." Crossing Over: Part 6 It's unclear if whatever had happened to Hook had also caused Mixmaster's disappearance. Hightower has a similar enough personality to Mixmaster that they may be the same individual, though if that's the case, then it's odd that he was rebuilt with Hook's alt-mode.

Under the guise of the Global Corporation, Mixmaster and his fellow Constructicons created sophisticated buildings all around the world. Within each building, however, was hidden a mechanism that would trap underground all within the structure. When the scheme was put into motion and the Autobots responded with an attack, Mixmaster and his fellow Constructicons merged to become The Devastator. Though in this form, the Constructicons were able to overpower the Autobots, that changed when the Dinobots arrived. Mixmaster and Scavenger died when Swoop sliced through both of The Devastator's legs with his sword. Battle for Earth
As Devastator, Mixmaster and the other Constructicons captured Sunstreaker and imprisoned him within the Decepticons' headquarters. There, they revealed their true forms to the Autobot. Mixmaster gloated that Devastator was the most powerful robot of all, and that the Autobots were helpless before him. Mixmaster and the other Constructicons merged once more to defend their headquarters when three Autobots attempted to free Sunstreaker. These other Autobots were also captured. The Constructicons merged once more to contemplate a statue of Devastator that had been wheeled before Decepticon headquarters. Attached to the statue was a letter explaining that the statue was a peace offering, and that the Autobots surrendered. This turned out to be a ruse, however, and Autobot reinforcements burst forth from the statue. Mixmaster and the other Constructicons resumed their individual forms when the Autobots divided Devastator's attention so thoroughly that he could not maintain his combined form. Mixmaster then participated in the massive battle between the Autobots that ensued. This battle ultimately led to the Decepticons' defeat. The Autobots' Secret Weapon

At one point, the Constructicons designed the original combiner process, and applied it to themselves to create their alter-ego Devastator. Devastator was mentally unsound due to problems in their programming prototype, but Megatron insisted they keep him around anyway for his raw destruction power. The creation of Devastator spawned several copycat programs among Autobots and Decepticons alike, and soon at least a half dozen "Special Teams" were in combat on both sides. They began causing far too much damage on the planet, however, and so by the time of the Dark Ages the Crisis Intervention Accord was issued banning any group of combiners from all serving together on any one faction—they could be a neutral group or separated soldiers, but no more. The Constructicons were the first to break these accords and join up as a unit with Ratbat's Ultracons. Escalation Devastator was unleashed upon the Wreckers in the Tagan Heights, but was defeated by the Protectobots, who overloaded him with electricity. This not only shut Devastator down, but also forced him to split into his component 'bots. Devastation
At some unknown time, the Constructicons made their way to Earth in order to serve with Megatron and the lost crew of the Nemesis in the 1980s. Like all Transformers, they vanished after the destruction of the Ark II, but were reactivated by Lazarus in the 21st century. Mixmaster and the Constructicons formed Devastator and began attacking California after regaining their free will, Prime Directive #5 but were ultimately destroyed when Optimus Prime shot Devastator in the head. Prime Directive #6
When Megatron was abducted by the Keepers to outer space, Starscream took the opportunity to assume control of the Decepticons. One of his cards to play was Devastator, as he had secretly rebuilt Mixmaster and the other Constructicons following their defeat in California. The Constructicons' loyalty helped him gather other Decepticons under his command, and together they took control of the human city of Las Vegas, turning it into New Centurion, capital of the rising Decepticon Empire. When Grimlock and a group of humans and Autobots came in attempting to free the city, Mixmaster confronted them alongside Hook, Bonecrusher and Scrapper. Mixmaster made a particularly dramatic entrance by burning his way up through the bottom of the street with his acids, bursting up from a chemically-induced volcano. This bit of theatricality proved to be a mistake, however, when Grimlock knocked Scrapper off-balance and he fell into Mixmaster's molten pit. The cackling chemist was forced to take his eyes off of the enemy to pull his partner to safety before he was consumed. Never turn your back on a T-Rex—Grimlock took advantage of this distraction to crush Mixmaster's head between his massive iron jaws. Although he was pulled to safety and somehow recovered later that day, Mixmaster surely learned a valuable lesson about flash over substance. Hardwired
Megatron eventually returned to Earth, but Mixmaster and the Constructicons owed Starscream for reconstructing them, and so remained loyal to him when the Decepticons split into two factions. Of course, this only meant they were among the first to be captured by the Keepers when those aliens took over Las Vegas and turned Starscream into their puppet. Trapped behind an impenetrable force dome, Mixmaster and the Constructicons attempted to batter their way out as Devastator using sheer brute force, until Skywarp offered a better idea. Reconverting into their separate modes, the Constructicons dug a tunnel out beneath the force field, enabling Starscream's faction to join the final battle against the Keepers. Acting as Devastator, they were too far away from Optimus Prime and his Matrix-induced force shield when the American nuclear assault was dropped on the Keepers, and were blasted into pieces. Annihilation
The nuclear blast left Devastator fused into his singular robot mode, leaving him unable to split back into Mixmaster and his other components. Eventually, Devastator fell into the Void along with Omega Sentinel in the final conflict with the Keepers, and was left in stasis lock, drifting in the vacuum of space, after the Sentinel destroyed the Keepers' power source and shattered the Void back into real space-time. The starship Bounty, on a secret space mission from Earth, came across Devastator's remains and planned to tow him back to Earth. Fusion
The pieces of Mixmaster and the Constructicons fell under the control of Earth Defense Command, and were held in their Roswell facility for study. Generation 1 #0

Mixmaster and the other Constructicons apparently joined up with Megatron after the labor shortages for engineering robots cut them loose. Millions of years later, Constructicons were eventually called to Earth, where they displayed their newfound ability to combine into Devastator to the local Autobots. They did not enjoy it. All Hail Megatron #7 With the Autobots vanquished, Mixmaster joined in the attack on New York City, where the Constructicons awed the crowds by transforming in plain sight. At first, he played along with Scrapper's claims that they were benevolent aliens. Ever the nut job, Mixmaster did not join in the attack, but instead took a moment to examine the building materials that the humans used. He told Scrapper that they were soft, just like the humans. All Hail Megatron #1 He later helped form Devastator in order to speed up the mindless destruction a bit. All Hail Megatron #2
Swayed by Starscream's words regarding the future of the Decepticons, Mixmaster and the other Constructicons joined him in his revolt against Megatron. They attacked Megatron in the form of Devastator, and probably would've killed him if they hadn't been interrupted by the arrival of European jets. All Hail Megatron #11 The Constructicons were defeated when Omega blasted a hole straight through their combined mode. All Hail Megatron #12
During the two years that followed, Mixmaster and Hook were captured by Skywatch and deactivated. Requiring help in getting off Earth, a mixed Autobot-Decepticon group led by Hot Rod and Swindle retrieved the two Constructicons and started working on bringing them back online. A Rude Awakening They succeeded, and Mixmaster and Hook started helping the group with their spaceship project. Seasons in Flight Naturally, the Decepticons eventually turned on the Autobots, and Mixmaster was seen fighting against Rodimus Prime himself during the Menasor battle. After the new gestalt was defeat, Swindle escaped from Autobot and Skywatch custody along with some Constructicons, possibly including Mixmaster. Earthworks
When Megatron returned to Earth four months later, Mixmaster rejoined the main Decepticon army. He and the others observed as a lone Optimus Prime confronted Megatron, and was caught in the explosion when Prime had a satellite fall on top of Decepticons. Enemy Mine Megatron then let himself get captured by Prime so that he could use the space bridge technology built into in his new body to summon Mixmaster and the rest of the Decepticons to him on Cybertron. To battle the Autobots, Mixmaster and the other Constructicons combined into Devastator. They ultimately lost because Devastator's right leg was paralyzed due to combining with a dead Scrapper, and were then mind-controlled by D-Void into combining with Galvatron's Sweep army and forming a huge monster. The Decepticons were captured by the Autobots in the aftermath of the battle, but Ratbat organized them and made plans to rise up and take control by assassinating Autobot leader Bumblebee. Mixmaster took a report from Long Haul that the murder was successful, unaware that it was a lie. He was ordered by Ratbat to gather the troops for the next phase, but when he entered Ratbat's quarters a minute later, he found his leader dismembered and pinned to a wall. The World & Everything in It Unsurprisingly, he was outraged when the Autobots tried to spin it as suicide. As mysterious explosions then began wreaking havoc in the area, the Constructicons helped dig victims out of the rubble. Stick Together
Mixmaster and the team were put to work building things for the Autobots until one day when they caught Bombshell being chased down by Blurr and came to his defense. The Constructicons ganged up on the lone Autobot, then tussled with his backup Arcee until Prowl showed up, threatening to detonate their I/D chips. They just taunted him since Ratbat had disabled the chips, but Prowl used a secret passcode to override Ratbat's tampering and detonate them anyway, seemingly killing the Constructicons. Devisive In truth, the Autobot had already fallen under Bombshell's mind-control, allowing the Insecticon to fake the Constructicons' deaths and hide them away for the purpose of perfecting Devastator. The Verge Once Megatron returned from a long absence, Mixmaster combined with his fellows into the new Devastator—with Prowl serving as the head—who was then deployed to conquer Iacon. Before the Dawn Devastator was taken apart when Prowl fought back and rejected the combiner, which would have allowed Megatron himself to take his place had the Decepticon leader not been defeated before getting the chance. Heavy Is the Head
The Autobots and Decepticons were exiled from Iacon following the battle, but Mixmaster and the Constructicons, fascinated by the nasty memories they'd seen in Prowl's mind during their time as Devastator, left their faction to join their new idol among the Autobots. One brief scuffle with the Dinobots later, they were allowed to stay at the Autobot camp, where they promptly picked a fight with Arcee before the like-minded Dinobots calmed them down. Second Exodus They fell victim to the Necrotitan's corrosive "death wave", but were healed from its effects when the Titan was brought down by Metroplex. Finis Temporis While the rest of the Transformers celebrated the Necrotitan's defeat, the Constructicons continued to stick to Prowl like glue, cheering him on during a personal fight with Chromedome. When Ultra Magnus showed up to break them up, Mixmaster and Long Haul threatened to break him in the form of Devastator. The Becoming When Cybertron was invaded by a 70 billion-strong army of Ammonites sent by Shockwave, the Constructicons followed Prowl into battle and convinced him to form Devastator again for the sake of standing against Monstructor. Black Planet In the wake of Shockwave's defeat, Mixmaster witnessed Megatron disembark the Lost Light wearing the Autobot insignia. ...And the Damage Done
Once Megatron's trial resulted in him being made captain of the Lost Light, Mixmaster was curious if the Constructicons would join him, but Prowl had other ideas. Seeing the potential in Devastator, he fashioned the Constructicons into his own private unit and brought them on a mission to Earth, where they saved the Ark-7 from human missiles and formed Devastator to fight Galvatron's Decepticons. Detonation Boulevard After the battle Mixmaster and the others returned to the Ark-7 to celebrate, not noticing that Scavenger was acting a bit shifty. The Mind Bomb
As it turned out, Scavenger was deliberatley feeding information to Galvatron's Decepticons as part of Prowl's sneaky tactics. Mixmaster accompanied his unit on their attack on the Marshall Islands, using stealth paint to attack the Earth Defense Command base on the island. I Dream of Wires
When the Autobots began hunting for the Enigma of Combination, Prowl and the Constructicons went in serach of Spike Witwicky. Signals, Calls, and Marches Their search took them to Tokyo, where they secured their asset but ran afoul of Galvatron. Vs. Feigning a truce with their mutual nemesis, the team stormed the Onyx facility by forming Devastator. Devastator ultimately went berserk due to his loathing of Spike and ruined the mission, allowing Scoop to abscond with the Enigma. The team was forced to retreat to the Ark-7. The Obliterati
After Prowl learned that Optimus Prime had helped Starscream form a permanent alliance with Caminus, the team hijacked the ship's new spacebridge to travel to Cybertron The Possible Light, where they formed Devastator and tried to cut Cybertron off from its colony worlds. Superion and Defensor ultimately brought down Devastator, and the Constructicons were sent to a secret prison - Starscream wasn't done with them yet. Mistakes and Mayhem Seeking a new edge, Starscream drafted Scoop into the team, knowing that Scoop's fanaticism would force Devastator to obey his orders. You, Me, and the Universe Ultimately, however, Devastator wound up losing control. After Optimus Maximus and his fellow combiners felled the giant, Mixmaster was re-imprisoned with the other Constructicons. All That Remains
Although the individual Constructicons were still considered criminals, Starscream made allowances for releasing his own loyal combiner when necessary. The Constructicons reformed Devastator at Starscream's command to thwart a group of Decepticons commandeering the space bridge, Once Upon a Time on Earth and to siege the colony ship Carcer when Elita-One refused to transform her Titan in defense of Cybertron from Sentinel Prime's zombie fleet. Desperate Measures
Following the impeachment and arrest of Starscream, the Constructicons received pardons, and later watched from a nearby rooftop as Onyx Prime and Liege Maximo arrived on Cybertron and joined Optimus and his retinue for a meeting in the Spire. Though the other Constructicons initially laughed off off Scoop's renewed faith in his "Chosen One," who had seemingly foreseen this series of events, Another Mine the team wound up forming Devastator to break an indignant Starscream out of prison. The Ground
With Onyx Prime unmasked as none other than Shockwave, the Constructicons wound up battling against Victorion on Starscream's orders. The Hallowing Though they were initially able to withstand her gravity powers, Endless Forever this was soon revealed to be the work of Liege Maximo, using supplies of Ore-4 to buffer them against Victorion's attacks. When Arcee destroyed this ore, Victorion was able to unleash a devastating gravitational onslaught which fatally crushed Mixmaster and the other Constructicons. Unforgivable

Mixmaster was forged at or around the end of the War of the Threefold Spark. An era of rebuilding and renewal, Mixmaster came together with five other newly forged 'bots to form the Constructicons and help shape the Cybertron to come. They were recruited by the visionary architect Termagax to help build in the ruins of Iacon. Eager to make a name for themselves, the team promptly clashed with Termagax's conservative second-in-command Wheeljack—for while Wheeljack sought to merely rebuild Iacon, Termagax saw the potential for something bigger and better to take its place. While excavating in Rivets Field, the team inadvertently discovered the Enigma of Combination. Urged on by Termagax, Scrapper and his team agreed to expose themselves to the energies of the artifact. Mixmaster was particularly fascinated with combined himself with others into a stronger whole, just as he often did with chemicals and elements. They transformed themselves into a new combiner: raw power which Termagax hoped to harness and reshape into the ultimate building tool. Constructicons Rising, Part 1
Despite this new strength and power, Mixmaster and his team struggled to master their combination, fighting against a seventh, destructive personality that surfaced whenever the team combined... and whose love of indiscriminate destruction jeopardized their reconstruction efforts. Finally, however, Termagax encouraged the team to work with this anger, rather than against it, and harness the powerful emotion to unite them in their shared purpose of rebuilding Iacon. Although the team would eventually complete their goal of turning the ravaged cityscape into a beautiful metropolis, they would not enjoy the fruits of their labor for long—Wheeljack brought his concerns to the attention of Nominus Prime, and the Prime arranged matters so that the team would be reassigned to the distant colony of Mayalx to oversee the construction of a new energon refinery. Constructicons Rising, Part 3 There, the Constructicons labored for many years, deliberately kept under-fueled and tired so they couldn't combine, while they grew increasingly resentful of the world that had abandoned them while reminiscing about their glory days. Constructicons Rising, Part 1
With their future on Cybertron uncertain, Scrapper eventually came to believe that the team's future lay elsewhere and began training his teammates in the ways of combat, holding regular sparring sessions in an improvised gladiatorial arena. They also used contraband energon mixes to boost their power levels, though Mixmaster found the mixture particularly vile, yet addictive. During one particular sparring session, the team was interrupted by the Insecticon Bombshell, who, after a brief misunderstanding, told them his story: like the Constructicons, Nominus Prime had also banished the Insecticons for fear of their unique matter-eating abilities. Knowing that the team could be of use to The Rise, Bombshell manipulated the team into unknowingly aiding the cause, encouraging them to recapture their glory days. Constructicons Rising, Part 2
After some deliberation, the six builders agreed to help the Insecticons, and after filling up on Bombshell's provided energon cubes the team combined for the first time since their banishment—but instead of uniting based on their shared urge to create, the Constructicons combined to destroy Mayalx and everything it represented to them, a spiteful, destructive rampage that ended with every 'bot in the colony slaughtered and the statue of Nominus Prime toppled. Unaware that the Insecticons had deliberately goaded them into such wanton slaughter so that the energon they processed from the many remains could be secretly shipped back to Cybertron to fuel the Rise, Scrapper told his team that, for the first time in their lives, they were finally free to do and build whatever they wanted. Constructicons Rising, Part 4
Eventually, Shockwave called the Constructicons back to Cybertron and the Rise. When they arrived, however, Shockwave's former superior Exarchon had laid claim to the Rise and their bases. The Threefold Spark was eager to take a new body as powerful as Devastator, and tried to usurp the combiner. Together, Mixmaster and the Constructicons were strong enough to prevent Exarchon from possessing their collective spark or sparks, though the effort forced them apart and left them out of action. War's End Part Four With Exarchon soon destroyed, the Rise were fully absorbed into the Decepticons, and Shockwave provided the Constructicons to Megatron's cause. Mixmaster and the others were happy to be home, and to be wanted as Devastator. They saw themselves as heroes destined to end the war, and were happy to oppose the legacy of Nominus Prime. Mixmaster was among the many Decepticons lying in the Ark after it crashed on Earth. It would be a bit before Starscream was able to revive him, due to the lack of resources. He was eventually revived alongside his fellow Constructicons, and when the Autobots launched an assault on the Ark, Mixmaster and the other Constructicons were waiting to catch them by surprise. After making his presence known, Starscream ordered the constructicons to merge into Devastator. Transformers #5

There's a touch of the medieval alchemist about Mixmaster. There's almost nothing, inert or otherwise (including living metal), he won't reduce down to a stew of ores and chemicals in his seething rotating acid cauldron and then output as a new raw material. The others think he's got a few loose microchips, the way he cackles as he goes about his work, but it's hard to argue with the results. Mixmaster bio

Notes
- The hose/gun/cannon/thingy that Mixmaster uses to spray whatever is in his mixing drum at the time often changed its shape during the G1 cartoon. In his first appearance alone, it changed three times.
- A common misconception is that Mixmaster has a speech quirk, where he repeats all or part of a word for no reason. Fictionally however, this has only for certain shown up in "City of Steel". In "The Master Builders", he spoke once in a similar fashion, but rather than repeat part of a word, he repeated the full, short sentence.
- The models Mixmaster and fellow Constructicon Hook featured in Transformers: Earth Wars display an error where the wheels on their arms cause their arms to clip into the body. Mixmaster's vehicle mode also has a painfully visible seamline splitting it down the middle as a result of texture folding.
- In the 2000s, Hasbro evidently lost the toy trademark for "Mixmaster", prompting the Universe incarnation to be named "Quickmix", with the same befalling the Cybertron Autobot character. By the 2010s, Hasbro had regained it, albeit needing to add the prefix "Constructicon Mixmaster" for greater protection.
