Text being analysed Scottish youth football development

Source of text YouTube

Approximate date of broadcast 2009

Description of Text
The media text that I viewed voiced the worries that are taking place in the
Scottish game. The documentary talks about the big Scottish teams such as
Celtic and Rangers not having the quality to go beyond the group stages of
the champion’s league and sometimes not even qualifying. It then looks at
some team’s academies and how they are helping and sees that there are
facilities for youth development but not every team in Scotland has it.
The chief of the SPL is then interviewed to see what his ideas are for the
future.

Potential Audience for Text

The potential audience for the documentary is mainly
young Scottish football players who aspire to play in the
SPL. It is also aimed at the premier league and the
national team because although England is qualifying
for major tournaments there is no end product.

Key Influences on your Idea - Content and Form

This documentary is very convenient for me because it
basically is covering a similar documentary to min.
Although this documentary focuses on the SPL, it talks
about more or less the same problems that surround
the English game.

This documentary gave me the chance to see what

another student produces and it gives me a chance no
to make the same mistakes as they did. It also gives
me a chance to see what work for him. And maybe add
it to my documentary.
