(GTS-Z/02/004 : Clauses 2.1.9)

Black annealed MS Wire 16 SWG

METHOD
a. If preliminary drawing is available at the beginning of the job, prepare the
procurement plan based on completion schedule of the job.
b. The yard shall be properly protected to safe guard against any pilferage etc.
c. The raw steelyard should be separated from the bending yard to avoid mixing of
steel. The steel should be kept above the ground level by forming suitable pedestal.
d. Steel reinforcement for concrete work shall conform to IS:1786, IS:1139 and as
specified in the specification. All reinforcement steel shall be cleaned and free from
dust, mill scales, paints and grease etc.
4.1

REINFORCEMENT HANDLING
4.1.1 Received reinforcement along with manufactures test certificate and submit the
test certificates to TE/GAIL. Send the sample for testing of each dia to the
approved GAIL/TE laboratory. Sampling shall be done by TE/GAIL.
4.1.2 Check the quantity of reinforcement corresponding to weigh slip, transport and
unload the same at reinforcement yard.
4.1.3 Against requirement from site, bars shall be cut and bent to the shape and
dimension (as shown in bar schedule prepared by JPL based on IFC Drawings).
4.1.4 Reinforcement shall be tied as per the latest IFC drawing and any extra bars
provided at site shall be recorded in the pour card, Rebar laps and chairs, spacer
should be recorded in Bar Bending Schedule.
4.1.5 Unusable cut rods and scrap reinforcement shall be properly placed at yard.

4.2
