4. What are measurement standards? Explain in brief.
5. Distinguish between direct and indirect method of measurements. Give examples.
6. Derive dimensions of following mechanical units: Velocity, acceleration, Force, work
done, power, energy.
7. How the performance characteristics of electronic instruments are classified.
8. What do you understand by static characteristics? Explain in brief.
9. What do you understand by dynamic characteristics? Explain in brief.
10. Explain why PMMC instruments are most widely used instruments (advantages and
applications). OR
What are the advantages and disadvantages of PMMC instruments? Also write the
applications of PMMC.

Mention the materials used for making swamping resistances.
22. Describe briefly the working principle of multimeter.
23. Explain parallax error in a deflection type instrument and show how it can be
minimized.
