Scaffolding Checklist

This scaffolding inspection checklist contains 20 items to check that a scaffold is properly installed according to safety requirements. 1 Is scaffold installed on firm ground and not endangered by any traffic
open excavation?
2 Are proper soleplate used?
3 Are proper baseplate fitted to all standards or legs of scaffold?
4 Are scaffold components connection fitted cerrectly?
5 Is standard connected with either sleeve coupler or joint pin?
6 Is ledger bracing connected to the standards with right angle coupler
swivel coupler?
7 Is horizontal bracing or lacing provided at :
a) at bottom row of the installed scaffold.
b) at every 5 lift of frame or Modular scaffold to both inner and outer.
8 Tie back provided :
a) at every 4 or 5 lift or every floor starting from base of maximum
4 meters.
b) spaced not more than 3 bays or 7.5 meters apart whichever is lesse
c) effective temporary tie at top most working level or arm lock at least
two lift at upper most.
9 Is working platform provided as :
a) continuous working platform at construction level.
b) isolated working platform provided with proper guardrail and toe bo
c) timber decking size at least 200mm wide and 38mm thick.
10 a) Is proper access and egress to working platform provided?
b) Is temporary staircase securely attacted to the scaffold at the top
and bottom?
c) Is hand railings and landing platform provided and securely installe
to the scaffold?
11 Is the space between building face and working platform 460mm or le
12 Is the scaffold erected one lift or at least one meter above the top mos
construction level?
13 Is the scaffold and its working platform free from debris, unused
formworks, scaffold components and tripping hazards?
14 Do the scaffold components and fitting show any sign of deterioration

angle coupler or to standard with swivel coupler?
16 Is foot tie fitted to both inner and outer standards?
17 Is peripheral net or debris net properly installed?
18 Is suitable signage / tags are placed at appropriate location?
19 Are above 15 metres height scaffold designed by Professional Engine
20 Is there any designated person at the work place?
21 Is the scaffold erection supervised by a competent person?
22 Is there a scaffold register for inspection record?
