Coursework

1. All coursework submitted must include

a. a copy of the full brief given by the lecturer (with the signed coversheet)
b. all source material must be cited in the text and a full bibliography of source material
(including author, title, publisher and date) listed at the end of the submission

2. All work must be submitted in the mode instructed by the lecturer.


3. Work submitted under the student’s name must only be the work of that student. All information sources must be
acknowledged. Plagiarism is a serious offence and will render offenders liable to disciplinary action as set out in
the Dedan Kimathi University rules and regulations.
4. Students MUST keep a copy of all submitted work for reference purposes prior to the original being handed in and
returned. This will provide proof that the work was completed, in the event that the work goes astray.
5. Whenever a candidate submits work after approved deadline without an authorised extension, a mark of zero (0%)
will be awarded.
6. Requests for extensions of submission deadlines must be made in writing prior to the submission deadline to the
lecturer and must be supported by documentary evidence.

Lab Report Structure:


Instructions:
The following are the instructions for the word-processed document.

a) All letters should be typed in Times New roman with 12 font size
b) The main title of the assignment should be in top middle and use capital letter and
make it bold. All sub title should be bold, but not capital.
c) The spacing between the lines should be 1.5.
d) Word alignment setting should be in ‘Justified’ style.
e) Use the proper number or Bullets for writing the points.
f) Reference should be referred in the paragraph.
g) Use EEE Referencing Style.

1. Each student should submit a word-processed report to include the following headings for each
laboratory experiment.
 Title
 Introduction
 Aims of the lab
Clearly state the aims of the experiment in this section
 Methods of analysis
Explain the procedures and methods used to complete the tasks.
 Presentation and Discussion of results
Collectively provide the results of the tasks with a detailed discussion. Also
provide the answers for the post laboratory section.
 Conclusions of the investigation
Provide an overall conclusion about the Lab.
 References and Bibliography
 Strictly use EEE referencing throughout the report.
 Supporting documents (if any)
2. Zero mark will be awarded in case of plagiarism or late submission.
