Method Statement for External Plastering


1.0 Objective
The purpose of this section is to describe the important steps related to the External
Plastering work at the site.

2.0 Setting out


Initial setting out will be carried-out from the top most level of the building. Necessary
gauge point pegs will be placed top most level of the building with acceptable distance by
referencing grid lines under supervision of QA/QC Engineer. About 10 kg of plumb will be
fixed from the top most possible level of the building and it will be submerged to the
barrel located on ground/basement level. Same will be repeated in all the corners of the
building. Horizontal setting out will be done locations where groove to be construct.
200mm offline will be marked plastered surface around the window opening.

3.0 Quality Assurance/Quality Control


All the works will be done under the qualified staff member and continuous quality
checking will be done by our Quality Assurance Engineer/Technical staff during the work.

4.0 Cement : Sand Mortar Mix


Plastering mix
Mix proportion of 1:5 Cement : Sand, mortar would be used for the plastering work 80ml –
120ml of Cebex R112 (FebMix) would be added to each 50kg of cement.

5.0 Verticality
Average of 24mm of the off lines to the brick wall gauge points will be placed using
vertically placed plumbed line. Intermediate gauge points will be place by adjoining string
through the horizontally placed gauge points.

6.0 Surface Preparation/Improving Joints of Brick Wall & Structural Concrete


Surface of the walls would be properly cleaned. Vertical joint of the structural
columns/walls & brick walls will be treated by fixing 300mm width ½” squired plastic/pvc
coated mesh with wire nails/concrete nails by centering the mesh to the vertical
masonry/concrete column joint and horizontal masonry wall/concrete beam joint (refer

shop drawing SH-61). Concrete surface will be properly roughen or apply 1:1 mix of
cement: sand slurry with chemifix prior to the plastering work. All the masonry and
concrete joint details has been followed as per the Engineer’s instruction.
