DAILY LESSON LOG
Teaching Dates and Time JUNE 10, 2019 Quarter Third
I. OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To
meet the objectives necessary producers must be followed and if needed, additional
lessons, exercises, and remedial activities may be done for developing content
knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative assessment
strategies. Valuing objective support the learning of content and competencies and
enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives
shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standards: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the key concepts of functions.
B. Performance Standards: The learner accurately construct mathematical models to represent real life situations
using function.
C. Learning Competency/ 1. Plot points in the Cartesian coordinate system
objectives 2. Identify the quadrant/ axis where the point lies.
3. Exhibit critical thinking and patience in doing one’s work.
II. CONTENT Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the
teacher aims to teach in the CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.
Review on Cartesian Coordinate System and Plotting Points
III. LEARNING RESOURCES TG, LM, Chalkboard, Laptop, LCD
A. References
1. Teacher's Guide pages N/a
2. Learner's Material pages N/a
3. Textbook pages Next Century Mathematics 8 pp 147-158
4. Additional Materials from
Learning Resources LR portal
n/a
B. Other Learning Resources General Mathematics
IV. PROCEDURES These step should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that
students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which
you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing
students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question their learning
process, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and
previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
A. Reviewing previous lesson The teacher will discuss the class rules before the class discussion
or presenting the new lesson
B. Establishing a purpose for The teacher will draw a point on the board and ask the student to describe/ determine
the lesson the position and location of the point.
C. Presenting examples/
Instances of the new lesson The teacher will discuss the parts of Cartesian Coordinate System
D. Discussing new concepts
Plotting of Points in the Coordinate Plane
and practicing new skills # 1
E. Discussing new concepts and Identifying the quadrant/ axis where the points lie
practicing new skills # 2
F. Developing mastery ( leads
Board Work Exercises
to Formative Assessment)
G. Finding Practical application The students develop critical thinking and patience in doing one's work
of concepts and skills in daily
living
H. Making generalizations and The students learned how to plot points and determine the location of the given
abstractions about the lesson points in the Cartesian Plane.
I. Evaluating learning Activity # 1 A. Plot the following points B. Identify the quadrant/axis does the
following points lie
J. Additional activities for
Assignment
application or remediation
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students' progress this week.
What works? What else needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what help your instructional
supervisors can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant question.
