INTRODUCTION
Tagbilaran City Science High School is a prestigious academic institution where the
academically inclined gather together to further develop their skills and abilities. For years, it
has evolved its students to not only become outstanding leaders, performers, and professionals,
but also to become better versions of themselves. The said institution is not only known for its
academic excellence in subjects such as Mathematics and Science, it is also highly proficient in
the performing arts. Whether it be in the field of Music or Arts, they are able to deliver a worthy
performance and still be able to excel in their academics.
The subjects Music, Arts, Physical Education (PE), and Health, or more commonly known
as MAPEH, may not be as widely recognized or valued as other subjects such as Science and
Mathematics, but it still plays a part in our total average grade. Having a low grade on MAPEH
can affect the total average grade, which can be essential in our future when we take college
entrance exams and a high total average grade is required.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to determine the various measures of the 3 rd Quarter
MAPEH grades of the Grade 10 students. Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

METHODOLOGY
The data gathering was conducted by collecting the data from the subject teacher
concerned. Statistical analysis and interpretation of the data, and later the basis of the
interpretation was done through solving for the mean, median, mode, and the percentile rank of
each member of the group.
The MAPEH 3rd Quarter grades of Tagbilaran City Science High School Grade 10 students
were obtained to show

The table above shows the frequency distribution table of the MAPEH 3 rd Quarter
Grades of Grade 10 students. There are eight (8) classes with a class width or a class interval of
two (2). The highest frequency is 39, which falls into the class of 92-93. The mean, median, and
mode is then obtained to

The table and the solution above shows the mean, median, and mode of the MAPEH 3 rd
Quarter Grades of Tagbilaran City Science High School Grade 10 students. The results show that
the average grade is 92.38, or simply 92 when rounded off; the median grade is 92.6 or 93; and
the grade that most students acquired was 92.87 or 93.
The percentile rank of each member of the group of researchers was then obtained to
determine the percentage of scores in the frequency distribution that are equal to or lower than
their grade.

The table and the solution above shows the percentile rank of each member of the
group. It can be seen that Banac has a percentile rank of 11.53, Goti-ay has a percentile rank of
87.28, and both Miura and Panong have a percentile rank of 57.28, because they both have a
grade of 93.
