1. OBJECTIVE

1.1 This method of statement covers FO cable pulling, Installation of FAT & Termination in Qatar
national cement company OOREDOO Room.

2. SCOPE

2.1 This procedure will define the method to be used to ensure the Providing Rack Installation &
ODF Termination in Cargo Agent Building at HIA are correct & acceptable and shall conform to
the Contract Documents and Specification.

4. RESPONSIBILITY

4.1 The primary responsibility of carrying out all the activities mentioned in this method
statement rests with the Project Engineer unless mentioned otherwise.
4.2 Project Engineer directly supervises Site Supervisors. He is responsible to ensure that all
correct procedures have been followed and all necessary permits for the works are obtained
in advance.
4.3 A full time Supervisor shall be available at site when the work is in progress and is
accountable for the work progress including safety aspects.

5. INSPECTION & TESTING

5.1 In accordance with General Conditions of Contract.


5.2 Before commencing the work, whole site shall be inspected according to the pre-installation
procedure mentioned below to ensure that there are no obstructions to the work.
5.3 In accordance with the Project Specifications and Quality requirements applicable, inspection
and testing shall be conducted on installations. On satisfactory completion of the inspection
by the Client, clearance shall be obtained for the next activity.

6. WORK PERMITS

6.1 All necessary work permits shall be obtained prior to the commencement of any activity at
site and shall remain valid throughout the entire duration of the operation.
6.2 Request for inspection & approval (RFI) shall be submitted and approvals obtained after
completion of any works at site.

7. PROCEDURE

7.1 Pre-Installation
7.1.1 All materials and documentation relevant to this particular section of works will be
checked and verified ensuring that these are correct and approved type.
7.1.2 Scaffolding / Platforms shall be provided wherever required before commencing the
work.
7.1.3 Confirm that all Tools & Tackles required for doing the job are available.
7.1.4 Before beginning installation in any area, examine all parts of the adjoining works
into which applicable work is to be placed. Should any condition be found which will
prevent the proper execution of the work, installation shall not proceed in that area
until such conditions are corrected by the contractor.
7.1.5 Personnel involved in the activity are made aware of the risks and the steps to be
taken to mitigate any hazard or unsafe situation.
7.2 Material Inspection

7.2.1 Material inspection will be carried out to ascertain that no damage has occurred. In
case of any damages, common inspection and report will be issued.
7.2.2 The material shall be transported in their original packing to location.
7.3 Installation & Commissioning
7.3.1 All cables shall be properly arranged and Laid and shall be to the approval of
the Engineer/Supervisor

7.3.2 We are planning to carry out the work in one phase,

8. HEALTH & SAFETY

8.1 All health & safety precautions shall be followed as per the standards. Ensure all involved
persons are aware of the same.
8.2 Before commencing any work, all permits shall be checked and ensured that they are valid
until completion of activity.
8.3 All staff and workmen shall wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE). The following are the
common PPE issued.
8.3.1 Ear Muff or Plugs (Where Required)
8.3.2 Helmet
8.3.3 Hand Gloves
8.3.4 Mask
8.3.5 Safety Goggles
8.3.6 Safety Belts/Harness (Where Required)
8.3.7 Safety Shoes
8.3.8 Clothing suitable for weather & work condition
8.3.9 Reflective vest
8.4 The item issued to the worker must be periodically inspected and changed if it is damaged or

does not respect the specified conditions.


8.5 Toolbox talks shall be conducted every day before commencement of work.
8.6 All personnel shall be cautioned while working near live lines and other services.
8.7 Experienced workmen shall only be deployed for the work.
8.8 Ensure that tradesmen will keep their working places clean, tidy and free from rubbish.

9. QUALITY CONTROL

9.1 Quality control shall be exercised and recorded in accordance with the Project Quality Plan,
Contract Requirements and Statutory Regulations.
