MEEN 4325 Intermediate Fluid Mechanics (3 Credit Hours)
MEEN 4325 Intermediate Fluid Mechanics (3 Credit Hours)
I Course Description
The objective of this course is to further develop concepts associated with fluid dynamics. This course is built
upon fundaments of fluid mechanics such as hydrostatics (pressure distributions) and integral analysis of
conservation equations: mass, momentum and energy. Topics developed in this course include differential
analysis of conservation equations, compressible flow theory, boundary layer theory and irrotational flow theory.
IV Course Objectives
1) Firmly ground students in the fundamentals of conservation principles including mass, momentum and energy in
differential form.
2) Apply these principles to a variety of flow fields.
V Course Outcomes
(a) an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
(e) an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
