Rizal was admitted to Ateneo Municipal at age 11. As a newcomer, he was placed at the bottom of his class. However, he quickly proved himself, becoming an emperor within a month and receiving excellent grades and prizes for his work. In later years, Rizal's mother was freed from imprisonment and they were able to embrace. Rizal continued his studies, but returned home discontented after only receiving a single first prize in Latin that year.

Script (Chapter IV)

1872-1875

Narrator:

Rizal was eleven years old when he introduced at the Ateneo Municipal to Father Magin Ferrando. At
first he did not want to admit Rizal.

Scene 1: ( si Rizal at Father Ferrando ang magkausap, eskwelahan ang pinakabackground, na may
nakalagay na Ateneo Municipal)

Father Ferrando: I will not admit you Rizal because you look so weak, little and young. And you’re late
for the registration.

Narrator: But later, at the request of Mr. Manuel Burgos, nephew of Father Burgos, Rizal was admitted

(Ipinapakita na naadmit na siya sa school , Scene 2: Papasok sa eskwelahan si Rizal)

Narrator: Ateneo Municipal home to the Jesuits priests which was considered the best educators in
Spain proved their worth in providing the best education system for both Filipinos and Spaniards. His
first teacher is Fr. Jose Bech.

Narrator: In Jesuits colleges, there are two empires: Roman and Carthaganian Empire. As a newcomer
and knowing little Spanish, he was considered as inferior and placed at the bottom of the class. He was
assigned to the Carthaginians, an occupant of the end of the line.

(Scene 3: Background Ateneo School , then representation ng 2 empires, then si rizal as part ng bottom
classs)

Narrator: A month later, Rizal was already an emperor. He was so happy because for the first time he
got a religious print for a prize. In the first quarter he won a first prize with the grade of excellent.

(Rizal – masaya, ipapakita na nakukuha siya ng award)

Narrator: But afterwards, he was disgusted of some words uttered by his professor, he did not want to
study hard anymore, so at the end of the year , he only obtained accessit in all his subjects, grade of
excellent without getting first prize.
Narrator: Year 1873, Rizal spent his vacation in his hometown. But then his happiness was never
complete because his mother was not yet with them so he went to visit her mother, without telling his
father about it.

SCENE: (papunta syang kulungan , sa nanay niya , ipapakita na nag uusap sila))

RIZAL: Mother, I received accessit in all my subjects.

Narrator: With that his mother was surprised. They embraced each other weeping. It was almost more
than a year that they hadn’t seen each other.

Mother: Napaluha,, masaya. yayakapin si Rizal.(Oh my Rizal , you’re so clever , you did a great job)

NARRATOR: The vacation was over , Rizal return to Manila to enroll for the second year

(May sasakyan na papunta sa Manila)

Narrator: Rizal looked for a landlady inside the walled city, because he was tired living outside the city.
He found one on Magallanes Street, number 6, where lived an old lady called Doña Pepay.

(walled city ang background, naglalakad si rizal , naghahanap ng matutuluyan then ipapakita un isang
dorm na naroon si Pepay)

Narrator: In the following years, Rizal’s mother was free from being imprisoned, his mother was
acquitted and vindicated and as soon as she was out she came to his son, Rizal, to embrace him.

(Nanay niya at si Rizal nagyakapan)

(lagyan ko dialogue, kapag di applicable, erase nalang. Haha)

Mother: My son, how long since I haven’t seen you. I miss you.

Rizal: I miss you too Mother. I am glad that you are free. I’m so happy to see your smile and beautiful
face.

Narrattor: After 2 months and a half , Rizal left the house and returned to the recently vacated room in
the house of Doña Pepay, and returned also his life before as a student. As a result of what happened in
his studies, Rizal received only the first prize in Latin, that is, a medal, not like last year. He returned to
his hometown discontented.

(Scene:Nakareceive ng award, pero his not happy when he came home to his hometown)
