STUDY GUIDE - Common Uc7 Test Elec Components

This study guide provides an overview for a 10-hour module on testing electronic components as part of a Computer Systems Servicing NC II qualification. The module will determine criteria for testing components, plan testing approaches, perform tests, and evaluate results. Key concepts will cover electronic component types, testing tools, strategies, and methods. Distance learning will include readings, videos and activities while face-to-face sessions will discuss topics and include a pre-test, coaching, skills practices, and post-test.

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to this Unit of Competency of Computer Systems Servicing NC II, TEST
ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, Using the combination of Distance and Face to Face
Learning as our learning modality. This covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes
required to test electronic components. It includes competencies in determining the
criteria for testing electronics components, planning an approach for component testing,
testing the
components and evaluating the testing process.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this module, you should be able to:
 Determine criteria for testing electronics components
 Plan an approach for component testing
 Test components
 Evaluate the testing process
KEY CONCEPTS

UNIT 1. Determine criteria for testing electronics components

 Types of electronic components
 Testing criteria for electronic components

UNIT 2. Plan an approach for component testing

 Testing tools and instruments
 Testing strategies

UNIT 3. Test components

 Testing methods

UNIT 4. Evaluate the testing process

 Records system
