MARKS – 20 CLASS TEST – III DATE – 24/05/2018

CO – 2:-

(Q 2) – Differentiate Film condensation and Drop wise condensation. (2)

(Q 4) – What is Nusselt Film theory? (2)

CO – 4:-

(Q 1) – Define Capacity and Economy of an Evaporator. (2*2 = 4)

(Q 5) – Draw the schematic diagram of a single-effect evaporator and derive the Material and Energy
balance equations and also the Area of heat transfer. (6)

CO – 5:-

(Q 3) – Air free saturated steam at T v = 650C condenses on the surface of a vertical tube with an OD of D
= 2.5 cm which is maintained at a uniform temperature T w = 350C. Determine the tube length L for the
condensate flow rate of M = 6*10-3 kg/s per tube. (6)
