Calculation Sheet of Slab Scaffolding: Middle East Scaffolding TR. L.L.C

This document provides calculations for scaffolding used to support concrete slabs during construction. It analyzes the loads on panels, secondary beams, primary beams, and scaffolding standards. The maximum stresses and deflections are calculated for each component and checked against design standards to ensure they are within permissible limits. The analysis confirms the scaffolding design is able to safely support the expected loads during concrete pouring and curing.

1.1 The load on slab formwork

We consider the Beam thickness is 120mm.
Self-weight of reinforcement: F1=Dh= 0.120  25  3 kN / m 2
Self-weight of Formwork: F2= 0.5kN / m 2
Allowable distributed work load: F3= 2.5kN / m 2

The analysis as above lead to the expression for the pressure on the formwork:

p  F1  F2  F3  3  .5  2.5 =6 kN / m 2

Where:
p – Design distributed loading on formwork.

1.2 The components of Cup-Lock formwork

The components of Cup-Lock formwork: scaffolding, primary beams, secondary

beams, plywood etc.

The span of primary beam is 1200 mm.

The span of ledgers is 1800 x 1200 mm.
The span of secondary beam is 300mm.
