Abstract
Before that there’s no corona virus, teaching and learning in face to face classroom goes well.

The education before is not hard unlike today. We used technology for presenting lectures, or

any things that will give the students’ knowledge. But in today’s world that we are now facing

pandemic, every things that we do before the pandemic change and today’s world is called New

Normal. In this the face to face class is hard to do, but because of the world is being developed

with the new technologies, online learning is the answer to every students for not being left

behind in education. Technology has gained importance in all stages of education yet

educators have been unable to figure out which of the many available technological tools

best fit their classroom practices. The one online application that help every teachers and

students to get along is the google classroom application. Google Classroom is one such tool that

is free of cost and has gained popularity within a short span of time. This paper show the

effectiveness of google classroom for teaching and learning of every educators and students, how

is this application work, and who will benefits this application.

EFFECTIVENESS GOOGLE CLASSROOM IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Google Classroom is an application use for education. You can use Google Classroom in

your school or home to streamline assignments, boost collaboration, and foster communication.

Classroom is available on the web or by mobile app. You can use Google Classroom with many

tools that you already use, such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar. Google

Classroom enables teachers to create an online classroom area in which they can manage all the

documents that their students need. Documents are stored on Google Drive and can be edited in

Drive’s apps, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and so on. But what separates Google Classroom

from the regular Google Drive experience is the teacher/student interface, which Google

designed for the way teachers and students think and work. This application frequently use of the

teacher and the student, this is the way of teacher to give assignment and other output for the

students to enhance and increase their knowledge.

We are now facing a pandemic and the only way to continue the education is online

learning this tools is helpful for students to comply the outputs given with them. Google

Classroom is an easy way to help students with this application because it is super user-friendly,

making it a great intro to technology. Because everything is posted online, Google

Classroom gives students access to materials no matter where they are.

There are many features of Google Classroom that is helpful for the educators and

students. First is the Drag & Drop on the classwork page, “Last fall, we rolled out the new

Classwork page, where instructors can stay organized and map out their classes. But, we know

that teachers organize their classes in distinct ways and need additional flexibility in their

classroom tools. So now, you can drag and drop entire topics and individual Classwork items,

rearranging them easily on the page. You can drag an entire topic to a specific location on the

Classwork page, or drag individual items within and in between topics. This functionality

launched last year on mobile, and now it’s time for it to hit the web.”

Second is the, Refreshed Ux, “Starting today (January 2019), you’ll also see that

Classroom has a fresh new look and feel, first on the web, and soon in the Classroom mobile

apps. Back in 2014, we introduced Google’s new material theme to have more consistency

across Google products and platforms.  Among the changes, you’ll see a more intuitive design

flow plus a new approach to shape, color, iconography, and typography, on both the web and the

mobile app. We’re also making the class code easier to access and project so students can easily

find and join. And finally, we’re introducing 78 new themes with custom illustrations, ranging

from history to math to hairdressing to photography. Now, you can customize your Classroom

more than ever before.”

Third, Attach a Google Form to a post, If you’re a fan of Google Forms (here’s a post

on using Google Forms to create a self-graded exam), this is a change you’ll appreciate. Phan

explains, “Many teachers have been using Google Forms as an easy way to assign a test, quiz or

survey to the class. Coming in the next few weeks, teachers and students will soon be able to

attach Google Forms from Drive to posts and assignments, and get a link in Classroom to easily

view the answers.”

Fourth, Due dates optional, Project-based learning, Self-directed learning? Maker ed? If

you use long-term projects or other due-date-less assignments, you can now create assignments

without due dates in Google Classroom.

That is the some of the features of google Classroom that is helpful for every teachers

making and posting a new assignment for their students.

Methods

Google classroom is particular in today’s world because of the pandemic, many

application can help the teacher to deliver their knowledge for teaching and students for learning

but Google Classroom is the most useful for delivering the module and outputs for students.

Google Classroom sits between you and Google Drive and provides a teacher/student-friendly

way of managing classroom documents.

Here’s some of the things what to do in Google Classroom. First, Making

assignments. The main thing you will do, as the teacher, is making homework assignments or

outputs for your students. When you create an assignment, you can upload the necessary

documents for the students to read or work on. Students receive e-mail notification of new

assignment. The students “turn in” the assignments when finished, and you can then grade the

assignments. Second is, Make announcements. If you have a quick announcement for the entire

class, you can quickly type in the announcement, which is e-mailed to all your students in the

class. Third, Store classroom materials. The materials you add to an assignment aren’t the only

documents you can store. You can store any other necessary documents for students on Google

Drive. Lastly, Allow students to interact. Students have the ability to comment on assignments

and announcements, as well as e-mail each other through the Classroom interface.

This Google Classroom is just like inside in the real classroom, you can interact with the

students and give them assignments or output and score their work when finish. The difference

of this online application in a real class is you can’t see your students, but it will have a big help

for this online learning education. This is not just for New Normal Education, it can use in the

face to face classroom. If you want your students have interaction with technology this is also

helpful. This Google Classroom application is effective in delivering knowledge for students.

Result

This shows that using online application in education like Google Classroom is effective

in delivering knowledge for the students. This Google Classroom help also the teacher and

student enhance their technology skills. The most who benefit this application is the students

who don’t want to left in education and the teacher who want to give knowledge despite in this

situation. The educators must be flexible in other online application not just for Google

Classroom but in other application that help the students to gain more knowledge. The benefits

of this application are: Easy to use and accessible from all devices, Effective communication and

sharing, Speeds up the assignment process, Effective feedback, No need for paper, Clean and

user-friendly interface, Great commenting system, Is for everyone.
