Module 1 – Lesson 5

TITLE: Curriculum Development: Processes and Models

Basically, this very informative lesson, honestly it helps me to understand


the significance of Curriculum Development: Processes and Models. Based on
my personal reflection on this informative lesson it helps realize the importance as
student and as a future educator because this lesson tackled about Curriculum
Development Process and Curriculum Development Process Models including
Ralph Tyler Model: Four Basic Principles, Hilda Taba Model: Grassroots Approach
and Galen Saylor and William Alexander Curriculum Model. And my own
understanding about the phase of curriculum process.

First is about the Curriculum Planning means consider the school vision,
mission and goals, based on my understanding curriculum planning is so
important specifically in school because it is the foundation of providing the
reliable belief of the school to achieve what their students wanted to acquire
and what are the specific activity that are needs for the desire learning
outcomes for their learners. Second is about Curriculum Designing means the
selection and organization of learning experiences or activities can measure and
achieved the learning outcomes in other words what are the assessments given
for the learners and how it’s effective to achieved the learning outcomes. Third is
about Curriculum Implementing means putting into action the plan which is
based on the curriculum design in the classroom setting or learning environment.
Based on my understanding it specifically what teachers should be able to do

where learning becomes an active process. It also the preparation of teaching
and learning and how teachers can identify the different activities given to their
learners and how they apply the effectiveness in every skill for the future.

As an aspiring future educator, I really make sure that the learnings I


already learned in this lesson is the stepping stone to achieve my goals in life.
However that understanding curriculum is a guide to give a uniform
methodology for all the learners have the same opportunities to learned.
